X-Press 2 are DJ Diesel and DJ Rocky. They need little introduction to be frank.

Two pioneers of UK House music who released some of the most influential records of the 90’s and 2000’s when Dance music might have been at its very biggest and frankly coolest. A lot of the music they released back then has stood the test of time – whether it be singalong classics like ‘Lazy’ featuring the voice of David Byrne or a classic Junior Boy’s Own Cut like ‘The Sound’. Their music still bangs loudly in clubs all over the world to this very day and in all honesty they remain two of the most interesting and committed to House music in the game.

All of this made it even more exciting when we were sent over a copy of their firth album upcoming on Acid Jazz. The pair describe the forthcoming record:

“We’re so excited to be releasing ‘Thee’ with Acid Jazz. It’s been a long time coming, and some of the tracks have been with us for around ten years now. So it’s fantastic to finally get them finished and pulled together with a bunch of new tunes to form an entirely new album.”

The new album is a testament to their ability to adapt and weave their sound into new interpretations of style and genre. The record is a playful collection of floor fillers and grooves which are highly addictive. Reminiscent of some of the greatest X-Press moments.

This mix shows us that they remain just as classy as ever.

I recently stumbled upon this 17 year old dj-set on an old HD and thought I'd share it here as I thought it still sounded fresh and genuine.
Recorded live at Belgium's infamous Decadance club in Ghent on March 24th 2007, here's nearly two hours of various shades of bumpin' house music. Vinyl only - this is what I sounded like in those days, and some of these records I still hold dear and play today.

Decadence was a very special place. The club opened at 10pm Saturday night and wouldn't close until Sunday afternoon. We spent countless beautiful nights and extended mornings there, blissfully dancing together with friends and strangers.

They'd have lots of amazing international guests week after week, from the US (Derrick Carter, Lance Desardi), UK (Inland Knights) and more, but also had lots of incredible resident djs. My home town is Leuven, a 1 hour train ride from Ghent, and we would regularly make the trek. The house and techno scene in those days was strong all over Flanders: Leuven, Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp and even most smaller towns had great club nights happening. (And then I'm not even talking about our trips to Wallonia, but that's a whole different story.)

Studio mix n°25 come from one of our favorite characters, Dutch house master Tom Trago. 
We have lots of memories and anecdotes we could share about our good friend Tom - like when we invited him to play for the very first edition of the festival and he surprised both us and the airport security by showing up at the arrivals barefoot. 
Or when we found him sleeping on the terrace of our house after his set last year, fully enjoying the magical spirit and the vibes of Apulian sunrises. We love you Tom!

Talking about his artistic journey Tom has long been one of the leading lights of the Dutch electronic music underground; a globe trotting DJ, producer, live performer and label owner who enjoys nothing more than championing both overlooked gems and fresh sounds from his own country.
He once claimed that he felt a physical need to make music every day, and it’s hard to think of anyone whose immersion in music is quite as complete.
For Tom, there is no “typical day”, but an average one would include a combination of studio sessions – either solo, or with friends and like-minded musicians from the Netherlands or beyond – DJ gigs and live shows.
Although now widely considered to be among the top tier of European DJs, capable of working big rooms, intimate spaces and wild festival crowds, Tom’s rise was built on years honing his craft.
