Here’s what the duo has to say about each track:  Never Trusted Me birthed in a snowy cabin in the woods, we iPhone recorded melancholy chords on an untuned piano, instantly inspiring the hypnotic top line of 'never trusted me'. While moody and dark, the track still bounces and the guitar/sax hook takes lift, elevating and driving home dance elements.  My Love is a simple mid tempo love song, with wafting airy notes of early summer. Lyrically channeling the honeymoon phases of a blossoming relationship. Drawing sonically from early Brazilian tropicália with nostalgic horns riffs, lyrical flute, and classic bass textures. The Lesson is a moody, driving house beat with a foreboding message of getting burned and learning your lesson. This upbeat jammer, grooves and drips with oscillating textures building to a peak and dropping out to intimate flute and guitar melodies. Never Feel the Same has a muffled house beat and driving, gritty bass line that dance together, with a plea to ease and heal the pain. Depending on your mood, this song could be interpreted as soft and smooth or hard and emotional. Easily fitting into the classic mold of songs you want to hear during darker times.

ALBUM MEANING:
Lowlight Magic by DROPLITZ is a bass music voyage to the bottom of the soul’s ocean to transmute dark energies into magic. Only through embracing the full spectrum of emotion, do you become buoyant enough to rise from the lowlight and stay afloat.

This twenty two song flood will wash away worries and replace them with dreams. It’s magical! Ethos of personal transformation drift through every song as the underlying motif. Both albums embody wave and trap music primarily with distinct splashes of phonk, deep dubstep, and future garage for an impactful downtempo journey.

Together Lowlight Magic is a story about transformation and achieving inner peace. Lowlight Magic reveals the dichotomy between the heart and mind. As stand-alone albums, “Lowlight LP” is symbolic of the heart and the “Magic LP” reflects the mind. The entire experience is filled to the brim with meaningful quotes, aquatic harmonies, danceable beats, and liquid bass lines suspended in an underwater, urban setting.

RELEASE DATE SIGNIFICANCE:
The release date is a profound and special time of the year. 11.22.2022 was strategically chosen through intuition back in April of 2022. Lowlight Magic being released on this date with angel numbers 1’s and 2’s allows manifestation and balance to potentially bless the listener. November, is when winter hits, when the seasonal sadness hits, when the cold hits, when the eclipse can happen, when the people begin to grow tired as the days grow shorter and darker. Lowlight Magic is to give way to the space needed during these melancholy times.

TALEX makes his debut on Gravitas Recordings with a powerful EP out March 31st on all platforms. The tracks bring cinematic and emotional qualities while keeping a bass music foundation, telling a story in a beautiful way. Most of the inspiration for this EP came from modern forward-thinking electronic artists such as Flume and CharlesTheFirst, and also a great deal of inspiration from film score composer Hans Zimmer. This blend of inspirations creates a poetic bass music composition that really moved us.

“This project is meant to be a cinematically, emotionally driven piece to help make sense of the constant cloak we, and society, wave in front of our eyes. Covering the illusions of: Reality, Love, Spirituality, and Perception, the music is supposed to be heard front to back and provide a sense of comfort in knowing others can be facing the same confusion about life that the listener might be.” - TALEX

Illusions opens up with a beautiful soundscape, slowly bringing in a reese bass and building with enchanting vocal chops and pads. The drop pulls back and introduces a catchy drumbeat while continuing to build into something even bigger, the last drop lands much heavier while still keeping the same beauty from before to create a surreal listening experience. Desire continues this beautiful atmosphere with chopped vocals and an epic breakbeat build into a huge half-time drop. The vocals and bass are mesmerizing and truly take the listener somewhere special. Skies Above brings in captivating singing from ALEA and showcases a much deeper bass heavy sound, while still maintaining the cinematic feel of the whole EP. Perception closes out the release with rapper Malik Elijah for a blend of bass music and rap, with heavy sound design and enchanting synths. It continues into an epic breakdown full of breakbeats and ends with a drum & bass drop to bring it to its peak energy, a perfect journey.

Trickles was inspired by the trifecta of friendship between Daniel (Arcturus), Grant (Prezence), and Amanda (Reaya Light).  As winter neared its end, we felt the trickles of spring rolling in, as the trickles of our consciousness flowed in as well.  Everything about this tune came together so easily, as if the song wrote itself!  We adventured throughout time and space to explore our inner worlds together.  The song speaks about sovereignty, dignity, and honor for what has given us the wisdom to create.  Grant and Amanda came together to harness the lyrical expression, after Arcturus laid down the template for the song structure.

ETHNO is releasing his debut EP “Musicology Vol. 1” on Gravitas Recordings September 1st.  This EP is the beginning of the artistic gates opening for ETHNO, sitting on hours of original music and ready to show the world this first chapter.  Jeffrey Franca (ETHNO) is the drummer and musical director for Thievery Corporation and has a full lifetime of touring and influences under his belt.  His unique approach on global bass music incorporates all of these influences from around the world into a special blend of sounds.  We are excited for what is next for this legend and his project ETHNO.

The Journey opens the EP with panning female vocal chants, flutes and synths filling the air and painting a beautiful soundscape.  It drops into flowing bass and beautiful stabby synths, epicly building into a larger drop incorporating a new lead and a flow beat. Awake again (ft. Celestine) slows down the tempo and starts with lush string instruments and beautiful vocals that immediately teleport us to another world.  Building on top with catchy electronic synth leads and a catchy chorus, this one can put anyone in a good mood. Exhale has a beautiful downtempo intro and slowly brings in electronic leads and similar sounds to the previous tracks, maintaining the same vibe yet showing a different side to the project.  Leaf Water opens with beautiful analog synth stabs and vocal chops, echoing around the soundscape and immediately enchanting the listener. Slowly building and layering new ideas, this meditative beat brings in heavier bright synths that brings us back to the old school electronic music sound.  My Personality (ft. Born-I) switches it up and brings a higher energy groove and brings in iconic rapper Born-I.  Focusing more on the beat and rap than the synths and other ideas, while still incorporating the sound and style that ETHNO has created for this release.  A perfect end to the release that leaves us wanting more.
