Haplogroup Q (M242)!
I have been walking the earth since the
early '50s. I am an ex-mill-rat,
ex-(Calumet)region-rat, ex-chemist,
dead-mathematician, ex-programmer,
musician, composer, earth-walker.
I have two musical directions, I play,
perform, and teach traditional Japanese
classical music for the shakuhachi
(an end blown bamboo flute), and I play,
compose, and perform experimental
electronic music. All the electronic music I
compose and perform is and can be done
in real-time (i.e. I don't use multi-tracking
or computer manipulation for my compositions).
Whenever I record anything, either electronic
or on the shakuhachi, it is done in real-time
just as it would have been done on the stage
or in an intimate setting.

Jules Klee is an Americana songwriter with a voice that can quiet a dive bar — and carry
it. 

With a “come to cry” style that draws comparisons to Emmylou Harris and Neko Case, Klee’s band brings elements of bygone folk and country while making way for a soft soulfulness, sang in earnest. With a rotating cast of players, her songs land a little different each time — on purpose.

Her Album Big Charade was released in 2012, with “Talk” featured in the Ubisoft release Watch Dogs. 

And “Hook Sung By Strangers” featured in the indie film Albion Rose.

“First drafts” are just that. 

In 2017, Klee lost her iPhone with nearly a decades worth of songs to her toddler “giving it a bath” (in the toilet)

Rather than getting too attached to the idea of “finished”, forthcoming singles will first be set free with their imperfections and exposed to listeners mid- process. 

A window into incomplete ideas, and single lines that often write the songwriter, “first drafts” are intended to be sonic photographs. You’re hearing a journal in real time.

this is an ambient musical walkabout set about in but one odd, isolated night — wherein soundscapes move along and with a sleeplessly anonymous travel guide — we go thru this singular evening, moving into the deepened and darkened populated places — an odd night, in an unnamed city — composed of life’s sounds, environmental moment forming thru sounds signaling musicality, voicings, synths, samples and the like.  what matters herein is not some romantically devised ending to so prize — it Is but that night, any single night, has a interesting beauty all of its own.  such is this expression — this is but night-timing.  it is another truly wonderful thing of the night that inspires this project:  night is much more than just a time... night is especially wonderful because it is a “place” — it’s a space we may inhabit that’s unique to any other we can find here in this lifetime.
