The lyrics came from watching lightening at dusk approaching over the Irish Sea. It didn't fill me with terror or anything, more wonder and awe.
Its the first song I've strummed I think.
Again theres a bit of a Nick Drake influence in the guitar part.

Nick Drake died in 1974, an unknown songwriter with three failed folk albums to his name. But fast forward to the present, and Drake is considered among the most important musicians of his time.  'Three Records from Sundown' retraces the roots of the Nick Drake legend through interviews with Drake’s producer Joe Boyd.

Originally produced for Podstantsiya (www.podst.ru), a Russian podcast platform based in Moscow, 'Three Records from Sundown' later received the Directors' Choice Award in the 2009 Third Coast International Audio Festival.

I was delighted when Wes Martin gave me the opportunity of adding backing vocals and additional instrumentation to this beautiful acoustic song that he wrote. It felt like a real present! This is what he said about it:
