Hybrid Hooks is a compilation of uptempo club and rave tracks by long standing and new artists of Defrostatica Records such as Sinistarr, HomeSick, Morgan Neiman, Greazus, Klose, Sam Binga, Jon1st, Sun People, Kiat, Anna Morgan, Detroit’s Filthiest, BSN Posse, Kabuki, Yazzus, Dispondant, Agzilla, Maltin Worf, DJ YumYum, Arcane, DJ Badshape, d’cure, Alza 54 and Jermainesoul.

While the Leipzig based label is determined to blur the boundaries between jungle, footwork, juke and drum and bass from a DJ point of view – the artists from USA, Canada, UK, Austria, Spain, Germany, Iceland and Singapore are each representing a refined sound identity within their cultural and musical context. This dynamic of diversity, inclusivity and mutual influence marks the DNA of Defrostatica. 

The 21 tracks of Hybrid Hooks are meant to be played out loud and if you’re brave enough, even in one session. Like a good DJ set Hybrid Hooks is structured as a journey from the enticing intro over high energy rave moments into relaxed and deeper ends only to build up to an emotional peak and fade out in the light of a new day.

Vancouver/Paris -based imprint Club Designs is back with its biggest compilation to date.
CDMUSIC012, the latest in the label's ongoing series of electro inspired VAs, boasts an eclectic mix of producers from across the globe, paying their respect to the classic Detroit genre.

The compilation features music from Vancouver heroes Greazus, French DMC champion Saligo, Berlin’s Insomniast, and label alumni Shanx, alongside label co-founders Sharkki, who teams up with hot French producer Body Hook, and Garneau who brings a deeper cut to the pack.
Tokyo newcomer Kanse keeps it old school, while Aleister and Minor Sine Project bring the modern productions into play. Sonically, the release traverses the full scope of the imprint's sound, with streamlined percussive club tracks, bass-heavy workouts, and leftfield electro explorations that nod to both UK club culture and North America's undergrounds.

@clubdesignslabel has been steadily building a reputation as a stronghold of gritty and raw dance music, and CDMUSIC012 sounds like both a rallying cry and a celebration of the collective energy that powers the label.
