Digging even deeper into their nasty jungle and old skool roots, the Fling Rock Stone EP, presents you with an onslaught of perfectly executed, razor sharp drum patterns and basses that pack a 10 tonne force to the chest! Due to be released on internationally renowned Ram Record’s sister imprint Program, it’s the follow up to a debut single which saw the rise to underground prominence. 

‘Fling Rock Stone’ kicks off the EP, setting the tone with intricate filtered breaks and the war cry of “Fling Rock Stone”. You’re hyped up into a flurry of chest caving subs and breaks chopped together with utmost precision and style.

Up next is ‘Highgrade’, beginning with pads this track is set to annihilate dancefloor’s around the world over and over. Serious amen break drum work cuts through and delivers nothing but power and bass weight energy reminiscent of the dark days, fusing new elements with old skool flavour, delivering nothing short of a production masterpiece.

‘Hyper G’ and ‘Bagleys’ complete the EP. ‘Hyper G’ rolls in with mysterious, unearthly atmospherics layered on top of mangled drum edits building into a crushing assault. Heavy weight kick drums, clanged snares and mid range heavy stabs deliver an all-out tear rhythm, able to lead you onto any dance floor. ‘Bagleys’ sets a different tone. Taking you on a journey to the epic rave days of Bagleys nightclub with an echoed sample mixed on top of bitcrushed drum edits and murky pads, its rises into a storm of pitching down bass, and the drums are rolled in guaranteeing nothing but pure dancefloor satisfaction.

With 4 beautifully crafted masterpieces, Slang Banger blend the lines of old skool flavour and dark, tech infused bass lines to deliver something fresh, exciting and monstrous! Thus delivering the guarantee of world dance floor domination!

For our fifth outing, and our first of 2017, we’ve carefully handpicked two tracks from the prodigiously talented Kusp. Hailing from the UK’s South Coast, Kusp’s on his way to carving out a niche with a tight production style that seemed ready made for Context.

We’ve managed to get him off the hard stuff and into the deep end, delivering a solid, two-track release that’s equal parts epic, lush and filthy.

Getting By, on the A side, is menacingly low slung, saturated in hip hop influences. It rolls into the deep end with a graceful weight and a shocking power that’ll stun anyone within earshot into an awed silence.

The flip, Lustre, is much more conventional, but no less potent. It’s a big, crisp, clinical liquid roller with enough soul to send shivers up your spine, but enough rolling bass to make you move your feet.

Sticking to our maxim of solid, well-engineered D&B CTX005 is the first chapter in what we hope will be a very promising 2017.

'Flip It' is a track we made with Defex some time ago, we have had friends asking about putting a Hip Hop MC on it but we prefer to release is as an instrumental!

After some time away from music one of the OG’s of Brazilian D&B DJ Patife is now firmly back on the scene. Having teamed up with fellow countryman Vangeliez - formerly one half of Human Factor - this is one production outfit that have definitely found their groove! 
 
After the runaway success of last years 'I Will feat DRS', released by the late great Marcus Intalex on his Soul-r imprint, the duo then contributed to the V Recordings x SUNANDBASS Viva Brazil album with the sublime 'Flying High'. Following on from this now comes their first full single release together in the shape of 'Ain't That Bad / Unexpected' on V Recordings. 
 
Again teaming up with Manchester’s finest for vocals on 'Ain't That Bad', the tracks follows in the vein of their previous collaboration DRS delivers an uplifting message full of positivity, definitely something you can never have enough of! Precise yet soulful beats permeate the track, as the hypnotic pads swirl around - another classic in the making! 'Unexpected' is dripping with original liquid vibes - think Carlito & Addiction, Calibre, D Bridge Big Bud, Solid State - with a 21st century twist - one for the those who like it deep. 
 
This year sees V Recordings celebrate its 25th Year, and with artists like Patife & Vangeliez making music this sweet, expect to still be spinning these cuts in another 25 years - timeless material.

Following on from Pictures Of You ft. DRS and Rain ft. Children Of Zeus earlier this month, Lenzman sparked an uproar of excitement as speculation arose for his next LP. Today, Lenzman makes a return to Goldie’s Metalheadz label to drop the Bobby LP.

Gliding through sub-genres of hip-hop, jazz and soul, Lenzman’s new album is forward-thinking with complimenting crossovers that still connect with the current drum and bass scene. Across this boundary defying journey, Lenzman draws on a cascade of mellow and weighty subs, soft and rich vocal tones from collaborators DRS, Children Of Zeus and Konny Kon whilst guest producers Artificial Intelligence and LSB lend their notable skills to the LP with nostalgic melodies. Amongst the intricate sound design also lies sentimental influence of family and childhood that has served as the essential foundation to bind the LP together:

“I became a father a year or so before starting the album. My daughter had also named her stuffed toy “Bobby” at the time,” Lenzman explains. Although the LP was already taking shape that was fitting for me as a title. Becoming a Dad had made me revisit my own childhood and look at it from a different angle. The memories, influences and music from that period of my life were the most vivid in my mind... the moods and feelings, all translated into the music on the LP. I was raised by my father and he used to draw a lot back in those days, so it was fitting for him to draw the cover, fragments of my childhood put onto paper.”

Since stepping on the scene in 2007, Lenzman has continued to flourish as an artist known for his fluid approach and bold collaborations. Whilst producing his own originals including his debut LP Looking At The Stars in 2014 and Golden Age EP in 2016, the revered producer has also provided the remix treatment for Joe Hertz’ One Another and The Mouse Outfit’s Feeling High. Having released on the likes of Spearhead Records, SGN:LTD, Soul:r and his rising North Quarter imprint over the years, the Bobby LP on Metalheadz is primed to satisfy the bubbling cravings of patiently waiting Lenzman fans whilst capturing the ears of a wider global audience as he releases his most seminal body of work to date.
