SUBMITTEN, is a self-taught electronic music producer hailing from Decatur, Illinois. Submitten's journey into electronic music production began in 2016, when he attended his first dubstep show, that profoundly altered the trajectory of his life. From that moment on, the thunderous allure of heavy bass music became his true calling.
In 2023, SUBMITTEN achieved a significant milestone, landing his first live show opening for the renowned dubstep legend SUBDOCTA at THE SOCIAL EXPERIMENT MUSIC FESTIVAL in Peoria, Illinois. This pivotal performance not only showcased his talent but also solidified his reputation as a formidable force in the dubstep scene. SUBMITTEN's commitment to artistry is further exemplified by his bold decision to perform exclusively his original tracks—both released and unreleased—during live shows. This has had a remarkable impact, captivating audiences and transforming concerts into unforgettable experiences filled with cheering crowds, dancing, and euphoric headbanging.
Following the success of his debut live performance, SUBMITTEN continued to rise within the ranks of the electronic music world. His most recent triumph includes a sold-out show opening for dubstep icon VAMPA, which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm and acclaim. As with his previous releases, Wisdom was written, produced and recorded by Scott Woodruff, a self-taught musician, at Stick Figure-owned Great Stone Studios in Oakland, CA, former home of Green Day.
 
Wisdom is Stick Figure’s seventh album and follows the unprecedented success of 2019’s World on Fire, which peaked at number 34 on the Billboard Top 200, #6 overall Top albums, #1 Independent, and #1 Reggae album. World on Fire has sold over 300,000 copies including streaming equivalents, according to Nielsen soundscan data. Stick Figure’s catalog has now sold well over one million copies and been streamed over three billion times. 

Wisdom is a journey and a search for what matters in life–a search for meaning, purpose, place and belonging. Grew up in New Hampshire. Taught myself guitar. Moved to California to "make it". Played guitar for a while and got nowhere. Found a punk/reggae band - sucked for a while, slowly got better, recorded an album, and played California Roots Festival. 

Left the band to be a solo musician. Built a home studio. Taught myself to write, record, and produce my own songs in said studio. Lived in Slightly Stoopid's hometown of Ocean Beach for 5 years. Moved to Minnesota (yes, from San Diego). I spend most of my time working on making music that I love and sharing it with awesome people.

Heavily influenced by Stick Figure, Lee Scratch Perry, Bob Marley, Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson, Citizen Cope, Major Lazer, and just about anyone else who makes songs that I love listening to.

I'm ditching the genre conversation and creating music that I think is cool, but most would classify my stuff as heavily influenced by dub and reggae. Hope you dig it too! :)
