Driven by deeply personal, yet universal narratives Reed Waddle’s latest release, Time the River, showcases his unique musical vibes as a Nashville based musician. Time the River blends Reed’s acoustic singer/songwriter chops with the classic California country sound inspired by influences like Neil Young and Tom Petty. The album opens with Reed’s soulful voice on the high energy, toe-tapping tune, “Too Bright to Fade Away.”  The song’s powerful message, especially in the uncertain era of COVID-19, reminds us that we all have “a light too bright to fade away” and that “we’ll keep, we’ll keep on holding on.”
  
Throughout his multi-faceted career, Reed has honed his craft playing thousands of gigs and racking up prestigious awards. For the past five years, the grand prize winner of the Telluride Troubadour contest immersed himself in the Nashville songwriting scene, getting his songs heard by the musical greats and recorded by renowned indie artists. 
 
Reed started his musical journey along the sandy shores of his small, yet idyllic hometown of Destin, Florida. While there, he released two albums – Higher Ground and Piece By Piece. In 2009, seeking inspiration and adventure, Reed moved to Boston. Within months, he captured the Grand Prize of the coveted New York Songwriters Circle and was a winner of The Mountain Stage New Song Competition. During this period of great change, growth and struggle, Reed moved to New York City, found an ally in British producer Iestyn Polson (David Gray, David Bowie) and the two completed the critically acclaimed album, Creatures of the Heart. For his latest release, Time The River, Reed handpicked Nashville-based producer Jesse Thompson, and together they created a musical work of art that is drawn from real life experiences.

A trusted troubadour for hot summer nights and cold beers, Owen is now in his forties, tangling with separations from lost lovers, raising kids, and growing out of the fresh-faced kid that headed down to Nashville 20 years back with a six-string and a dream.  Case in point: Dreams to Dream, Owen’s long-awaited, Shooter Jennings-co-produced foray into classic, honky-tonk country, out November 7 via Good Company Entertainment. Dreams to Dream, Owen’s first independent studio album, featuring 10 original tracks and two stellar covers, tells the tale of a man at a crossroads — and what it takes to set out a new path. 

Owen wasn’t expecting much when he commented on one of Shooter Jennings’ Instagram posts, half-jokingly suggesting that they make a honky-tonk record, but the producer called his bluff. Two days later, Owen’s manager had Jennings on the line and, soon, Owen was on his way to L.A. and Jennings’ Sunset Sound. It was a cozy yet electric scene: Jennings and Owen cracking jokes in the sepia-toned studio, creativity crackling as they collaborated with the likes of songwriters Ben Chapman and Kendell Marvel, as well as long-time shooter pal, guitarist/harmonic player Leroy Powell. 

“All my friends who have heard my stuff have gone, ‘Dude, Jake, this is you man. This is who you've always tried to be,’” Owen says. “Sometimes you need to get outside what's comfortable, what people think you are, or think you should be, and take a risk.”
