Mortisville and Friends take you on a unique musical voyage, harnessing a myriad if styles from vintage remix, electro- swing and jazz, in a joyfully flamboyant soiree of onstage mayhem. Encompassing horns, synth, violin, vox and sax, Mortisville & Friends have garnered a completely unique style, fusing the driving power of techno and tech house with a canavalesque backdrop of live instrumentation. MAF have wowed crowds at festivals such as Rainbow Serpent, Glastonbury and Womad. 

Bursting onto the scene in 2012 at Rainbow Serpent, MAF have grown effervescently, making the 2am Saturday night slot on the Playground Stage their own. Described by Eamon Armstrong of fest300.com as having the ‘raucous energy of house party at the end of the universe’ they have flamboyantly mutated, harnessing a myriad of individual styles and throwing them into a celestial mixing pot of progressive good vibes. You will forget your woes; your strife and dance vivaciously till you ascend to another plane. Simply put, there is no other act in the world like right now like Mortisville & Friends.

Based in Melbourne, Mortisville has been one of the driving forces behind the growth of Electro Swing and Vintage Remix in Australia. Having promoted nights in Melbourne for the last 5 years, he now co-runs the hugely successful Electro Swing Club Australia, which regularly sells out to over 1000 people and has hosted artists such as Electric Swing Circus, Slamboree, Grant Lazlo, Incontrol, Dr Cat Dutty Moonshine and The Chicken Brothers

As a DJ, Mortisville has rocked stages at Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party, Bestival and Boomtown in the UK, as well Goulash Disco in Croatia and a host of festivals in Australia. These include, Rainbow Serpent, WOMADELAIDE, Maitreya, Strawberry Fields, Subsonic and Pleasure Garden to name a but a few. He also has a number of successful releases under his belt, having worked with Grant Lazlo, Incontrol, Ragtime Records, Green Queen Music, Gentlemen Callers and many more.

In the ever changing illustration of what symbolizes house music today, a young entrant from Macedonia, Alek Soltirov, has immersed the uncompromising sounds of hip hop,  old school funk and soul and crafted into his own signature house blend. His production trademark is by resampling the behemoths such as Patrice Rushen, Al Green, George Benson, James Brown, Dr. Dre, Tupac, resulting in an intrinsic funky house sound. Moreover, Alek is not afraid to demonstrate his own independent interpretation of deep and funky driven house. As such, his impressive portfolio has been recognized by the likes of Mark Farina, Joey Negro, DJ Sneak, Doc Link, Dj Heather on multiple occasions. 

2010 was the year that put things in perspective. Chicago and deep house captured his attention and later became the very inspiration of his deep and groove sound. Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Tommy Largo, Delano Smith, Kerri Chandler, Miguel Migs were the few visionaries that ignited his production efforts in 2013. 

Infused with distinct techniques that gush contentment, Alek’s production leaves relentless energy on the house music paradigm. Despite his young age, the maturity of Alek Soltirov’s output is evident and unceasing on labels such as Salted Music, Nervous Records, Fogbank Recordings, Good For You Records, Mind Medicine, Emby, Doin Work Records, Whitebeard Recordings-Chicago, Fullhouse Digital, Home Again Recordings Digital, Different Attitudes, King Street Sounds, Juiced Music, Greenhouse Recordings, Mjuzieekal Education, Pocket Jacks Trax, Mikita Skyy, Cruise Music, Grin Music. Vanepatch moves from light to dark vibes while creating the most euphoric state techno can achieve. His danceable tracks with euphoric breaks seem the perfect formula to fill the sometimes soul-lacking music on the dance floor these days.

This young talent from the buzzing club scene in music-crazy The Netherlands already played numerous clubs and parties before finding his trademark style in the euphoric techno he plays like no one else.

Vanepatch’ approach of every transition between two tracks as a work of art is unmistakable. And whilst always anticipating the crowd when he is behind the decks, his energy is contagious.

With multiple releases on Korecraft Recordings and 3XA Music and with his latest 'Fondness EP' (June 2019), Vanepatch' unique trance-influenced techno is certainly something to look out for!
