The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Brutalismus 3000. One of our favorite Berlin projects returns with a new track on the upcoming DURCH v/a compilation: Solidarity 002 - A Love Letter To The Queer Community. DURCH is a queer collective with a clear vision of solidarity and community building. DURCH operates in Tel Aviv and Berlin trying to bring queer people together, building a culture of inclusion, diversity and tolerance. In the tradition of original raves DURCH organizes solidarity events ranging from parties, to art and community events, with the strong belief that raves are a much needed place for people to come together, celebrate their diversity and learn to respect each other.

After releasing their first v/a earlier in the year, The are back with their second solidarity release of the year: Bolder, queerer and definitely more fun than ever. Take a bit of everything, mix it together and then burn it all down. Building on our previous release DURCH [digital] Solidarity 002 features some well established artists alongside some exciting, well-kept secrets of the electronic dance music scene. You’re in for a bumpy ride and a couple of pretty nasty surprises on the way. Today we bring you the nu gabber post techno punk of "Satan Was a BabyBoomer". 

As always, the proceeds from the release go to Queer causes and this release will benefit TransInterQueer e.V. (TrIQ) and Casa Kuà. Out on April 16th and you can get yours on BANDCAMP.

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary. 

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.
 
Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

Nonstop is landing on the market their second Various Artists, this year Ibiza 2018. The compilation is composed by 10 tracks, new and known producers get together for this mash up of styles. Starting with the Bulgarian DJ & Producer 5prite, his 'Teab' has a very deep vibe and also a relentless groove. Roberto Surace & Blackchild debut on the label with their 'Do The Conga', a vocal which remember us of the old and, considered today, 'cheese', style, but always bringing us joy and happiness when heard. Lonely once again on Nonstop, after confirming some major release in one of the best labels around, the Italian producer is ready to fire up world's dance floors with his 'Hell' which is already played and supported by Loce Dice. Matto', is an Italian DJ & Producer, who has an attraction to experimental music, in a universe where experimental music has no bounds and limitless possibilities. He debuts with his 'Wrong Number'. Next, Chris Main, who is born in Barcelona, Spain. From a young age influenced by electronic music, the different sounds of the city and cultural contaminations from all over the world in a city full of life and experiences like Barcelona he brings a very percussive groove with a touch of tribal house in his 'Jokes Aside'. Also Daniel Blade debuts on Nonstop with 'Don't Kill My Vibe' and right now he's one of Malta's most prolific artists. His tireless work as a DJ has embedded his influence throughout every annex of the scene thus yielding a far-reaching impact on dance music culture as a whole. Djs & Producers Cris Ochava and Chinonegro born in Santiago Del Chile deliver a dance floor killer like 'Dance For Me'. Debut also for Cacciola with his 'Shadows' track.

As a fellow label head and respected voice on the tech house scene, Hector Couto is welcomed with open arms from Solardo and the Sola label once more for a compelling new release in the form of the Salimo EP. 

Following on from the Lil Old Man EP that released last year on the esteemed imprint, Hector Couto raises the bar for 2019 as the Salimo EP kicks his year off to a prolific start. Lead EP track Salimo is driven by steely drums and clever percussion whilst punchy b side Doin It features prominent synths and a captivating vocal loop, demonstrating Hector Couto’s diverse range and ability that he continues to carry throughout his productions.

For Respekt 172, we take a little dig into Spektre’s Respekt back catalogue, with a quintet of reworks from the scene’s finest.
OC & Verde kick things off with their super vibey interpretation of “Carnival of Souls” - a timely chaser to their huge Respekt hit “Mondoshawan”.
Next up to the plate is Harvey McKay, making his debut on the label with a characteristically stripped-back, no nonsense take on “Gates of Dawn”.
Manchester’s Rudosa transplants the melodies from “Forged in the Heart of a Laserbeam” onto his trademark heavy drums and rumbling low-end, whilst Hush & Sleep and Raito put their inimitable stamps on “Strobelight” and “Celeste” respectively.

Greg Gow is one of Canada’s most accomplished electronic musical talents with a growing presence and impact at home and across the world. He regularly brings his unique sound and performance excellence to premium venues across four continents. The award-winning producer and DJ consistently pushes the boundaries of his art, with his hypnotic sound, a skillful hybrid of soulful Detroit techno, marinated in the diverse flavors of his Toronto roots. 

There are haunting echoes in Greg’s music to the sounds of legendary world techno pioneers Derrick May, Kevin Sanderson, and Carl Craig, all of whom are his musical mentors and his abiding inspiration. Greg’s track “The Bridge” was instrumental in re-launching May’s iconic Transmat label, and his releases on Sanderson’s KMS took the techno world by storm at a pivotal time. Multiple collaborations have spread his penetrating sound to other leading labels, including Radioslave’s Rekids/ RSPX, Steve Bug’s Poker Flat, Christian Smith’s Tronic, Adam Beyer’s Truesoul, and Dubfire’s SCI+TEC.

Since 2001, Greg’s own label, Restructured Recordings, has pushed deep, funky,
driving melodic techno from artists such as Mateo Murphy, Samuel L Session, Ian
O’Donovan, and of course, Greg himself. For over three years he has produced and distributed a well-received monthly podcast series. This Is Modulations, features recordings of live sets as well as studio mixes.

Beyond his studio prowess, Greg is one of Canada’s most respected techno
ambassadors, regularly playing alongside other behemoths of dance music. He has starred from coast to coast in each of Canada, the United States and Mexico; from the top to the tip of South America; and widely across Europe and Asia. Global highlights include The BPM Festival; Output NYC; Movement Detroit; Movement Torino, Italy; Watergate Berlin, Ushuala, Ibiza; Club Space Miami; Creamfields, Dubai; and Club Air Tokyo; among many more. 

On his home turf, Greg has a residency at Toronto’s Vertigo, highlights at Montreal’s Stereo, and appears frequently at many of Canada’s premiere festivals like Electric Island. Greg’s track I Knew Techno, released on his Restructured Recordings label, won the 2023 Juno Award in the Underground Dance Single Of The Year category. These prestigious awards presented annually by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to recognize outstanding national achievements in Canada’s music industry. 

With the help of Avid Artist Agency Greg Gow is now planning a world tour to celebrate his 20 years of ever evolving success and spread his vibrant Techno sound.
