March 2018 Discoveries.

Many people simply want to hear and enjoy some great new music without having to waste time searching for hours. These Musical Discoveries collections aim to fulfill those needs. At least, we hope so! :)

This playlist is a compilation of the favourite musical discoveries of the Wud Records team from everything they heard at SoundCloud during March 2018.

Tracks have been arranged according to the number of plays at the time of publishing, starting with the fewest. Tracks that are early in playlists tend to receive more plays than later tracks, and we feel that the ones with fewer plays need the best chance of exposure.

This playlist is extremely eclectic, so if the track you are playing isn't quite doing it for you, try the next one. It will probably be completely different.

Here is something different to say thanks for 200 followers and 1000 plays!

This track was inspired by an Italio Disco track made by Synthmania on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz_iB_W9w5s&index=7&list=PLSxCN8QxbOooUNqZa9rUvQCcnqZvsobY3) (very vaguely) 

This track was made in Mixcraft 7 Pro Studio using only the Memorymoon VSTi for the synth lines. It contains a driving octave bass and drum with many synth solos over the top. Comment which is your favourite!

      Piotr Sobolczyk's second album contains various styles of dance music. From tropical house ("Infant Sorrow") through deep house ("Gay Melancholy", No Skin Off My Clone Remix of "Looking for My Zombie Clone", "Manie Blue"), late 80s British acid house ("Built On a One Night Stand"), classical 70s/80s disco ("Pest Gets Greased"), a venture into new jack swing ("Map of Para-Lies"), tropical house fused with latin vibe ("Everytime You Lie"), bhangra beats on "Manie Blue" and "The Art of Losing", progressive house ("Phandom Fantom"), the guitarish "The Skin I'm In", and a more traditional rendition of the evergreen "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" (mashed up with the gospel "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child"). Additionaly in the bonus section there is a flamenco inspired song "Habibi Olvida Tu Dolor" in Spanish and Arabic, as well as two versions of the originl songs in Polish. 
    All songs produced and programmed by Piotr Sobolczyk at Neptun V Studio. Vocals recorded at Neptun V Studio except “The Skin I’m In” (only additional spoken vocals recorded at Neptun V Studio), “Don’t let me be misunderstood” & “Manie Blue” recorded at Nonagram Studio by Michał Korzeniowski. Guitars by Michał Korzeniowski (recorded at Nonagram Studio). Piano solos by Julia Chen (recorded at Chen Studios, New York). All tracks mixed & mastered by Michał Korzeniowski at Nonagram Studio.

Pest Gets Greased

Crooked Weather's second new single 'Hares on The Mountain' . A traditional piece, inspired by folk hero Davy Graham, but gone crooked.

The song tells a tale of women in pursuit of men, just as much as men in pursuit of women, though it's the headstrong protagonist, Sally, that made the song so appealing; Sally concludes the song, choosing schooling over young love. Holly's lilting vocals and Will's distorted guitar mirror this theme of men vs. women, juxtaposed yet harmonious.  

This single marks the bands departure from UK for their 'Paper Roads' tour that will take them through Australia and New Zealand. See www.crookedweather.com for more info.

Greg Larkin is probably one of the best guitarists you may not (yet) have heard of. Hailing from Manchester UK, his musicianship is becoming the talk of the Rock circuit, and has supported the likes of Joshua James, Harry Manx, Wallis Bird, Andy Cairns and the amazing Arthur Brown.

His music is a complex interweaving of rock riffs, flamenco, jazz and funk and is as enthralling to watch as it is to listen to, drawing inspiration from such disparate areas as classical piano, post-rock and Zeppelin, as well as the inimitable Davy Graham
