Greg Ganesh is a "spiritual" recording artist and (a)live musician, as most of his music has "spiritual" themes; some of them appearing to be religious - especially Hindu - in nature, though Buddhist and Gnostic non-dual themes appear as well, alongside apparently "secular" songs or secular-APPEARING songs (like instrumentals for instance ~ don't be fooled; there's more than meets the eye... errrrr, ear with Greg Ganesh!). You could look at it from one angle and tag him a "Hindu". But even that is a pretty open philosophy and Greg is quick to point out that the word "Hindu" actually comes from the word "Indus" as per the Indus valley in India , the area of the world where much of the early experimentation by humans with higher consciousness originated. G.G. says the "belief system" associated with "Hinduism" would be the closest to what he "believes", but he also points out - believe it or not - that some new age teachings also find a place in his world outlook. He is also quick to point out that "Hinduism" per-se is so vast that it  actually includes Buddhism as the Buddha is considered one of the 10 incarnations of Vishnu (the same "over-soul God" that brought us Krishna and Shiva and Rama, etc.)
Greg Ganesh's purpose and mission is an attempt to bring the spirit of the light of truth thru your ears and into your being via the music, so that you can have your own subjective direct and personal experience with "truth" "G_d"...or whatever "it" is.  When he plays live (I've seen this first hand), it's always a one-man-kirtan right then and there, no matter where he plays. But even if it's canned, the spirit still seeps thru the miracle of modern recording technology.
