The Iowa Music Showcase is just what the name says, a showcase for Iowa music.

But it is a showcase for ALL of Iowa’s music, regardless of style, genre, decade, popularity, or location.

For the purposes of this webiste and occasional podcast, I am defining Iowa music as music made by a band or artist that was based in Iowa at the time of the recording.

Each week, the blog post will feature some source - like a website, playlist, app, or some such - where you can find and/or hear music from Iowa. If you know any sources, send me an email at iowamusicshowcase@gmail.com.

Every month (sometimes more often), the website will include a podcast that you can download.

     I'm 43 years old currently live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I primarily play rhythm and lead guitar but I can also play bass and keyboards. I sing a little and I am discovering new territory with my voice since I started singing in November 2013.
     In 2005, I decided to quit my "time clock" job and pursue life as a full time musician. The road has been hard and I'm still not up to my potential.   I would give anything to be more successful. All I want to do in life is make music. Nothing else makes sense to me anymore.
     I enjoy writing and recording demos of my own original song ideas. My influences are VERY diverse. I enjoy music from the 1940's through today's music. Everything from swing to metal.
     I play cover songs in the local band Mötorboat.
The money I make from motorboat shows goes into improving my future as a musician and to acquire better recording equipment, guitars, amps, etc.
     My dream is to tour the world playing music for the rest of my life.
