While stopping by soundcheck on a Sunday afternoon in October 2003 @ The Living Room in NYC my good friend and musical cohort, Jack Petruzzelli, asked me to join in and read something during a performance with him & Jimi Zhivago. In the emotional wake of my friend Elliott Smith's death, I quickly penned the spoken words to perform with Jimi on piano and Jack on guitar. The two of them were able to accompany spontaneously and perfectly. Luckily, there is this live recording that captured our special moment together. I hope that through this twisted maze of life & death, Jimi & Elliott are in some way eternally connected. That is my wish, and this was our performance. . .
