I've always loved the BFL track "Widow's Peak". It's a spoken word piece with a haunting narrative that moves through an eerie soundscape reminiscent of something from a David Lynch film. I decided to try an experiment and fuse it to the trippy, throbbing and unrelenting techno track "Walking On Fire". I love it's fiery synths and industrial noisy chaos. 
The vocal parts from each track ended up playing very well off of each other, both in lyrical content, and contrasting tone, creating an unexpected call and response effect.

Each piece is created with a different artist, giving voice and sound to a human quality that connects us.

a young and courageous artist from Nigeria,

“It took me a year, and I’m a man,” said the ovary-deprived human. He’s surprised that I am refinishing Habibi’s hull alone.

“Maybe it took you a year BECAUSE you’re a man,” I don’t say because I am polite. Turns out I’ve just bought a flexible sander from a member of the penis gallery, and I am considering getting my money back. I’m still mad at the male who forced a wet kiss on me a few weeks ago. He actually wrenched my body around to do it, as if I owed him.

So I stride my vagina over to another Capitana and vent. She graciously listens and nods. Yet another Capitana relates her experience with a Napa boatyard that refused to allow her to haul-out and work on her catamaran, because “even a man would have trouble.”

What century is this?! Why isn’t Kamala Harris President? Why – the hell – is gender still an issue?!

Fortunately this happened on a day when the surf was up. Hurricane Priscilla sent me waves of solidarity, and I rode them. Yes, I did, baby: without testicles.

I know – I know! – not every male is a sexist pig, but, boy, do these dinosaurs spoil my mood. Like the male sailor who suggested I could strip at the local so-called gentlemen’s clubs to earn money for bottom paint. Yeah. Not a compliment, dude. Get off my boat.

I also know that sexism goes both ways. “You’re a man, you can handle it,” says a mother to her son when he expresses dismay over his father’s abusive treatment in the film "Whale Rider." Humans create such ridiculous rules. Do ants have these problems?

I return the sander. I don’t want my money fueling a guy with an attitude problem. It’s like the day years ago that I saw a sticker on my Hermosa landlord’s mailbox supporting the man who twice bought the U.S. Presidency (I call him Voldemort). As soon as I found another place to live, I gave notice.

Some of these “others” are human,
some are digital —

For me, AI is not imitation — it is extension.
It allows art to reach beyond skill and structure,
into pure intention and consciousness.
It is not a replacement for the human —
but a mirror that amplifies what is real.

I didn’t plan on making music — I just fell into it like a fever dream. One night I was Googling “how do I load a track in Ableton?” and now I’ve got over 30 originals, a full debut album (Chasing Sounds), and two concept projects (Neon Noir and Desert Dunes) — a dual release that sounds like BB King, Daft Punk, and Saladin drank Arak and smooked hookah all night.

What started as caffeine, chaos, and curiosity turned into something real — a fusion of trap, lo-fi, blues, dubstep, oud strings, and cinematic hip-hop. 

Sometimes it’s filthy. Sometimes it’s emotional. But it always hits.

I create from a place of Love, Reverence, and Rebellion — for the Black and Brown pioneers who built the foundations of rhythm, soul, and everything modern music stands on. Without them, none of us pushing buttons today would have a heartbeat to chase.

If I’m ever lucky enough to make money from this, a portion goes to the NAACP and to initiatives supporting PoC creators in EDM.

Because I don’t chase trends — I chase Soul.
