After an enforced break due to a computer disaster I was back in business this week with a new webcam and some new tunes. This one wasn't free of tech issues - my glitchy USBs lost all my cue points halfway through so I had to play things pretty safe, and there's a bit of slightly shaky mixing. Tunes were good though!

It is a great pleasure to introduce to you our latest guest mixers on our Grooveology series, Shaka Loves You

Originally hailing from the Highlands of Scotland Jamie & Marty met in Glasgow in 2011 and Shaka Loves You was born. 
As DJs, they have supported De La Soul, David Rodigan, Joey Negro, The Relfex, Jurassic 5 & Mr Scruff. Their eclectic sets fuse & draw on many influences, from funk & soul to boogie, disco & house all mixed with tight live percussion

SLY also operate as a production duo and their releases have gained support & airtime from BBC Radio 1, 2 & 6 and has also attracted the attention of Mixmag, DJ Mag, Ministry Of Sound & Glitterbox Radio Show. 2022 saw SLY recieve accolades for the 'Best Of Scotland' in the national press!

Legendary soul DJ Craig Charles once said "If you don't like these guys then throw away your ears". Luckily, we love SLY which means we have our ears and thank goodness as their input for Grooveology is fantastic. A one hour mix crafted of Edits and Nu Disco delights, it's not to be missed!

Hosting this week's Sunday Service was our favourite trainer connoisseur, Faz aka Steve Farrell. Faz is a well respected DJ being part of Midnight Riot, as well as individually  gigging in the Greater Manchester area. Not contained to this, he's stretching out again across the north sea to ADE for Amsterdam's biggest dance event. Faz' mixes & gigs are usually epic in duration filled full of classic house & Disco to current bangers. We're delighted to have him host for us.

In the second half of the show was our very special guest, France's DJ My Love. DJMyLove is a recognized, appreciated professional DJ who has been getting Funky House, Nu disco, Disco House enthusiasts to move and to dance for over 15 years. DJML became a Nu Disco enthusiast and rolls out his sets in prestigious venues in France.
DJML cultivates his passion for sound and draws his infectious energy from happy" sounds, which are a source of well-being, reminiscent of the vibe of Studio 54.

With 30 years’ experience behind the decks - spinning uplifting House, Disco, Edits and more - London-based Greg Middleton is a versatile DJ, from warming things up with laid-back grooves to closing out a night with peak-time floor-fillers. Greg’s sets are fun and nostalgic, yet sophisticated and unpredictable, with rock solid vocals, funky and soulful grooves, layers of organic percussion, and hints of classic house - a nod to his musical roots.

Greg began collecting records and learning the DJ ropes in the early 90s, introducing himself to the club scene spinning House at various nights across the Midlands before moving onto playing at famous London clubs such as SW1 and The Cross.

Over the following decade, Greg broadened his style, heavily influenced the emerging Edits scene championed by the likes of Greg Wilson, Late Nite Tuff Guy and Dr Packer. He then held a three-year residency at the Big Chill Bar (one of London’s long-established venues), where he further honed his skills, reading the crowd and building the tempo while spinning long, genre-hopping sets.

Starting his own regular club night called Borderline in 2018, Greg brought his funky, party vibe to a packed-out, intimate venue in South-West London. When the pandemic hit, Greg took Borderline to the virtual airwaves, doing live streams every Saturday night during the lockdowns, with lively chatrooms and a growing following. The club nights returned with a bang in March 2022, and are going from strength to strength.

As a member of the “Disco Waltons” family, a group of DJs, producers and enthusiasts with a fast-growing reputation, he is currently co-producing the weekly Disco Waltons Sunday Service show on NDC Radio, with guests such as Michael Gray, Richard Earnshaw, Mark Brickman, Jamiroquai's Derrick McKenzie and Greg Wilson.

Greg is also co-host of Pete Ellison's award-winning radio show the Feel Good Friday Show, currently airing weekly on NDC Radio.
