With his new artist album “Quiet Distortion” ready for release this summer, Gregor Tresher once again sets sail to break new soil, proving why he is considered to be one of the most consistent artists in the universe of Techno music. "About A Good Place”, “Neon”, “A Thousand Nights”, “Full Range Madness” or his recent “Goliath” amongst many others - the list of Tresher's tracks that have turned into modern classics is more than impressive.
Now, with this new installment of 12 tracks and once again accompanied by forward-thinking artwork by long-time collaborating 3D-artist Dennis Richter, it seems that Gregor managed to bridge the gap to his early releases by transforming their original, uncompromising sound into the here and now. Gregor puts it this way: “I am aiming to ﬁnd the right balance in-between the vibe of some of my early music and the kind of modern Techno I like to play as a DJ, but at the same time I do not want to stand still but evolve as a musician. The goal I try to reach is to create something that will hopefully stand the test of time.“

And when the title track “Quiet Distortion” kicks off, people will instantly recognize that Midas-touch that made Gregor´s sound a quality trademark in the world of electronic music.

There are of course tracks that will find their place in playlists by Gregor´s DJ-colleagues: The rumbling “Depend“ that´s also been a staple in Gregor´s own sets over the past months, “Consistency“, which finds its niche in-between the melodic openers and a more tough Dancefloor-approach or the menacing “The Kraken“, that reminds of Tresher´s work on Adam Beyer´s seminal Drumcode label. With “Decades”, we get a glimpse of Gregor´s Sniper Mode project, which he buried at a time when real Electro lost its name to a different genre of music. And then of course there´s the mighty “Goliath“ - the only previously released track on the album: Pretty much everyone who has spent a night on a dance floor of a Techno club in the past year will recognize it, as it has been championed by so many.

Accompanying the release, Gregor embarks on another extensive album tour spanning over six months. It will include a mixture of exclusive live performances as well as DJ-gigs kicking off at the end of May and touching down on some of the most prolific music festivals and clubs around the world.

Però això no sembla afectar-li: el seu segon LP, ‘Motas De Polvo’, segueix unes coordenades sonores semblants al primer, com si el temps només hagués passat per millorar el que hi havia. Però tot i que al camp s’està molt bé, la gresca s’acaba trobant a faltar i, apart de produir a l’Empordà i dirigir el segell Factor City a distància, Undo punxa, a Barcelona i a on calgui, per mostrar d’on li ve la inspiració per crear discos com el seu. Als seus sets pots esperar electrònica deutora del so clàssic de labels com Kompakt i Border Community, o de gent com Caribou o John Talabot, mestres en compaginar l’energia que mou la pista de ball, amb l’amor incondicional per la melodia que et sacseja els sentits. D’allò que se’n diu electrònica amb cor pop.

En sus sets puedes esperar electrónica deudora del sonido clásico de labels como Kompakt y Border Community, o de gente como Caribou o John Talabot, maestros en compaginar la energía que mueve la pista de baile, con el amor incondicional por la melodía que te sacude los sentidos. De lo que se dice electrónica con corazón pop.

Gabriel Berlanga currently lives somewhere between Blanes and Cadaqués on the Catalan coast where he’s hit hard by the north tramuntana wind, but it doesn’t seem to have had any adverse effects. His second LP, Motas De Polvo, picks up from where he left off with the first, as if time had passed simply to improve something that was already going on. But while the countryside is nice, Berlanga has been missing the bright lights, and besides producing in Empordà and directing the Factor City label from a distance, Undo DJ’s, in Barcelona and wherever necessary, to show us something of where the inspiration comes to create discs like his. In these sets you can expect electronica recalling the classic sounds of labels like Kompakt and Border Community and artists like Caribou and John Talabot, and a masterclass in how to combine the energy that gets a dance floor moving with an unconditional love for melodies that shakes up the senses; what you might call electronica with a pop heart.


Undo @ Moog (Factor City & Areal night) (2012_05_02) Pt 1

'Rise Of Angel' is the brand new single from Luciano, and the first single to be taken from his forthcoming album, due in 2013.  However, for the many thousands of dedicated music fans who have made the pilgrimage to Luciano's hugely successful parties this Summer in Ibiza (the weekly Ushuaia sessions and Vagabundos at Pacha), or the many Cadenza parties around Europe and North America, 'Rise Of Angel' has already become the signature tune and musical hi-light in Luciano's sets, making its release a highly anticipated moment for the Cadenza faithful.

Clocking in at over 15 minutes, 'Rise Of Angel' is an epic slice of modern electronic dance music, the simply Balearic, synth and piano driven hook gently builds and teases with cinematic intent, the light percussion and organic beats working the old Luciano magic, it's no wonder that 'Rise Of Angel' has become one of the most talked about tracks of the Ibiza season this year.

For the remixes, Luciano has kept it in the family, enlisting the duties of fellow Cadenza artists Mirko Loko, UNER and Andrea Oliva to all lend their unique production styles to a solid set of reinterpretations.  The vinyl 12" is coupled with Mirko Loko's pulsating robotic workout, adding a more beats driven take on Luciano's original, and delving into the bass for a heavyweight techno flecked remix.

And bolstering the digital package, UNER weighs in with a dubbed out, rolling drum version, using the vocal FX to support the groove whilst the pianos ride over the mix, and Andrea Oliva goes straight for the 4/4 jugular with a remix that builds solid tribal beats to a crescendo, adding a new dimension to the Original with a choice vocal section.

'Rise Of Angel' will be Luciano's first release on his own Cadenza label since 2010's Lucien-N-Luciano's 'Cuidad De Luz' EP, and marks the start of another big chapter in his career, having spent the last couple of years building a passionate audience through hundreds of DJ performances around the world, the Vagabundos events and collaborating musically with artists such as Pharrrell (Neptunes) and Lenny Kravitz.  His forthcoming album will be his second full length collection (following 2009's ‘Tribute To The Sun’), and his label, Cadenza Records, will celebrate its 10th anniversary, so the future certainly looks bright for the Chilean producer and DJ.
