The project begun in the first quarter of the year when the artists were still touring and was later completed during a series of productive sessions after lockdown – Pig&Dan members Dan Duncan and Igor Tchkotoua experiencing a creative synergy with close friend Victor Ruiz that injected some lightness into an otherwise challenging time for the trio of producers.

‘Consciousness’ is driven by a catch low-end riff that’s powerful and funky in equal measures and is a particular favourite of Adam Beyer’s, highlighting the boss’ Drumcode Indoors II and Tomorrowland’s United Through Music stream.

Returning to Not An Animal for the first time in 3 years, Ian Blevins crashes in with a massive EP that results in some dreamy electronica primed for the dance. 

The Lobster Who Was Criminally Insane loads up the A1 with a track that veers towards the progressive house formula, whilst building on the more natural electronic blueprints. It’s rigorous and deadly, as synths build the pressure and detonate with devastating effects. 

Discodromo make their NAAR debut with a destructive remix of The Lobster Who Was Criminally Insane. Stripping the track down and driving it down a more percussive avenue, the leads melodies are used to create an immense breakdown with epic results.

Air Penguin carries on the same vibe as a refined mid-set floor filler, with an illustrious canopy of dreamy synths and counter melodies that rattle subs across the globe. 

Chida finishes off the 12" with his welcome return to the label with another remix that does the damage. Bringing the more offensive elements of the track, it takes the atmosphere and runs with it, adding some immense tension but remaining focused on the floor.

To close, The Lobster Who Was Criminally Insane (Beatless Mix) serves as the digital bonus, showing how a track can be made for the dance-floor without any percussion.

Following The Knife’s 20th anniversary and recent remix of Emmanuel Jal’s ‘Ti Chuong’, Swedish musician Olof Dreijer is set to release a remix of Röyksopp & Robyn’s ‘Monument’ via Röyksopp’s Dog Triumph imprint. This is the first time Olof has worked with the duo, having previously worked with Robyn across projects on Konichiwa Records. For the rework, Olof brings his signature warm and percussive sound to the chart-topping single. The track is accompanied by a visualizer from Martin Falck who has previously collaborated with The Knife, Björk, Fever Ray and Robyn. 

Originally released in 2014 via their mini-album ‘Do It Again’, the release was accompanied by a joint tour across Europe and America. Receiving critical acclaim, ‘Do It Again’ reached no. 20 in the UK charts and number 1 album in Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, marking Röyksopp and Robyn’s first. 

Olof has also remixed the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Fever Ray, Mari Boine, Emmanuel Jal and Mehdi Bahmad and recently produced and remixed fellow Swedish artist Zhala’s latest single ‘Holes’ on Konichiwa Records. 

Olof is most known for his work as one half of the electronic pop duo The Knife formed with his sibling Karin Dreijer. The band celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2020 with reissues, remixes and special live performances.

Boris Brejcha's "Purple Noise" has been one of his most popular and successful tracks ever and if this doesn't pant for more then what does?
So months later into some serious thought process and thanks to the incredible collaboration with fellow artists such as WorakIs, Moritz Hofbauer and Ann Clue we are proud to finally share this massive remix EP with you.

The first jaw-dropping moment during this project was when we received WorakIs interpretation of "Purple Noise". Let's go out on a limb here for a second and call his remix "anthem of 2021" which actually doesn't seem so far-fetched once you've listened to this journey yourselves. WorakIs certainly takes electronic music storytelling to whole nother level with this dramatic and incredibly powerful sound experience. 

Moritz Hofbauer continues with a wonderful rollercoaster ride through atmospheric vastnessnes coupled with gripping percussions and a bold bassline. It's the impressive diversity of this remix which makes it stand out so much.

Ann Clue, a long-time companion of Boris worked some real magic with her approach to "Purple Noise". While she allows the tender lead melody to float through a wide space of peace and harmony she still trusts in her uncompromising knack for propulsive percussive elements. 

Last but not least the maestro himself sat down to give his masterpiece a new paint. The outcome is a 2021 edit which is another reminder of why Boris Brejcha has become such a driving creative force in the music business over the last couple of years. Furthermore it's this kind of dedication to music which allows us to look forward into the future optimistically.

Techno enthusiast since 2007. The real interest to stand behind the decks came in 2015. So much good music is out there from talented producers and nobody is playing them. Every DJ has their own style, but they never played what I liked and that's why I decided to start my own career. My sound has a lot of variety between Techno, Tech House, Minimal and Melodic Techno. Originally based in Berlin. The City itself, which is well known for one of the capitals of electronic music, had a big influence in me and formed my taste in the music today. I Build up my sets, to give the audience a journey through sounds and emotions.

The newest member of Fckng Serious, the young musician and producer Moritz Hofbauer, starts immediately with a release. "Black Ice" is the name of his first EP on the label and will be the first part of a quadrilogy to be released during 2021. With four brand new tracks and a piano version of the title track, Moritz this time musically processes his impressions of the winter season. The piano cover is also intended to give the title track a special significance and leave room for new interpretations for the listener.
The main single, "Black Ice", was originally created as an intro for Moritz's new live sets and was intended as an introduction to his new chapter. The spirit of optimism is clearly audible in this special track and embodies euphoria for something new and still unknown. It can't be a coincidence that this track will be his debut on Fckng Serious!The track "Thundersnow" contains a lot of spherical sounds that inevitably draw you in immediately.The other tracks present themselves in a dirtier sound picture. This is due to the fact that their basis: bassline & drums come entirely from his drum machine and thus have their own sound colouration, which reflects Moritz's very personal style. 
We are very happy about his fast and very successful debut on Fckng Serious and are already looking forward to the next part of his unique Quadrilogy, in spring.Stay Tuned!
