In 2018 Dave (warfydave) Cooper sent me recording he had made, inviting me to contribute lyrics, vocals and steel guitar.   Immediately on hearing the recording, the words to Lewis Carroll's “The Lobster Quadrille” (sometimes called “The Mock Turtle's Song) started running through my head.
	We recorded the track and Dave posted it on his SC website (https://soundcloud.com/warfydave).   The song is still there at https://soundcloud.com/warfydave/lobster-quadrille-mix-4.
	The track I have posted here uses all the original stems except for the steel guitar (which I felt obliged to redo).   It has been re-mixed and re-mastered.
	There are many versions of this song on SC, the only ones I strongly remember are by Bruce Klepper (at https://soundcloud.com/bruce-klepper-1/the-mock-turtles-songfeat-mark-ewart), and Steely Dan (at https://soundcloud.com/steely-dan-official/the-mock-turtle-song), but I am sure they are all worth a good listen.

	The Lobster Quadrille appears in “Alice in Wonderland”.   It is sung by the Mock Turtle while he and the Gryphon attempt to demonstrate the dance to Alice.   John Tenniel's famous illustration (the cover art I have used) pictures both the Mock Turle and the Gryphon.

Was playing around with some chords and was stuck for inspiration on a theme. My 9 year old wandered into the "studio" (spare room) so I said give me a title for a song. He told me he had only come in to say he was "missing pieces" of lego. So I said Missing Pieces will be the title and it grew from there 😃
I asked my good buddy Johnny from No Killie Fish to lay some of his awesome guitar lines for the lead guitar and I think it has really added some flavor to the track and the solo is killer!! In 1964, I remember watching "The Ed Sullivan Show" and seeing the Beatles perform live and they pretty much jump started my interest in music, Long hair, guitars and Beatle boots, very cool, still cool. I have always enjoyed good harmony parts and George's slide work has always inspired me. I started playing gigs in 1968,  I believe I was in the eight grade. It was only junior high school dances and sometimes house party's but at the time, it was electrifying. Over the years like so many others, I’ve played concerts, night clubs, special events, coffee houses, bars and such. Also toured the U.S. in 76. Now it's all about writing, recording, having some fun and being a part of the Sound Cloud community. Yeah man! 
Debut Album called “ Seafoam” released 2018 at Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.


Some of my fav producers would be Gary Katz, Jeff Lynne, Sir George Martin, Eddie Kramer and Mark Hudson. As far as guitar players, great hooks from Keith Richards, best tone Eric Clapton, best feel SRV! Best slide guitar George Harrison, Sonny Landreth, Derek Trucks and Ry Cooder. Most creative exploration Eric Johnson. The most original and always inspiring the GOAT Mr. Jeff Beck, he is amazing. Walter Becker had the cool factor and the Mu chords as well as wrote such interesting lyrics.

++++. PROFILE NOTES ++++

Once a wannabe, not yet a has been.

It had been over a decade since I put together a song,
and for that matter basically walked away from music altogether.
Losing hope that I would ever have the time to put into music again,
I finally gave away my 3rd music studio.
I ran across SoundCloud around 2013,
and thought I might take what few songs I had recorded, 
and lay them to rest there.
And there they languished.

HOWEVER, around 2017 I went back to SoundCloud
and began listening a little more and a little more,
and actively taking a part in visiting the sites
of so many wonderful musicians and beautiful songs.
Also, more and more often I would discover that these artists
were blossoming everywhere around the world,
and most definitely worthy of high praise and compliments.

Then suddenly, these old dead soundtracks right here
began to have a bit of life breathed back into them.
From the kind words that began to come trickling in,
I thought, maybe, someday I might give this music thing a try again.

The thing that finally pushed me into action
was a particular SoundCloud artist…Sander Heerings,

Not only was he encouraging,
but he began faithfully responding to a few questions,
then a barrage of them.

The final result seemed to be that after a couple of months,
the Old Grinder now has a 4th studio and, finally, a new song.
I hope there may be many more to come.

to listen to these old songs, 
and most of all, for perking up my spirits.
