Damage On The Run

It is not about the famous astronomer, mathematician and philosopher who lived in the ancient city of Alexandria. Ipatia is one of the fictional cities in a work by Italo Calvino (‘The Invisible Cities’) published in 1972 (and translated into English in 1974). 
I composed this song in 1997 and recorded it (with Elisabetta) almost immediately (that's when I bought a Korg D8). Now I have simply remixed it after separating the tracks and improving the volume of the vocals and the equalisation of the classic guitar (it is a Yamaha CG 110CE pre-amplified, and the effects were adjusted then with the Korg). The arrangement is very sparse, the sound quality not optimal.

I am a songwriter, musician, lyricist, and recording engineer, and I have over 700 original songs copyrighted with The Copyright Office of Washington D.C., and I am always writing more. I have been writing songs on the piano, synthesizer, and in DAW based recording environments for over thirty years, and draw inspiration from such artists as: Lady Gaga, Maroon Five, Epica, Stevie Wonder, Usher, Alicia Keys, Sting, Steely Dan, Peter Gabriel, Emerson Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, Van Halen,The Beatles, Kate Bush, Rush, Jason Mraz, Lilly Allen, Dream Theater, Genesis, Squeeze, Yes, The Talking Heads, The Cars, David Guetta and other EDM artists, among many others.

Additionally, I've performed at Carnegie Hall as Principal Trumpet Soloist, toured Europe in a Symphony, played at Vatican City, was the featured trumpet soloist at The 1982 Reno Jazz Festival, compose musical theater professionally, and compose songs for up-and-coming artists, as well as established artists. Currently, I also perform at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium each year as Principal Trumpet Soloist in The Watsonville Symphony.
