Last Days of Summer

This track follows the theme of this new album about a young mans experience of growing up in the mid 19th century in Ireland, seeing his brother leave home to find a new life in America. When they were young lads, he and his three brothers played at being nights of the round table. Each brother was given a name; the oldest Galahad. Hence the title of the track.

Delighted to present my latest collaboration with The Phaige, one half of Soundcloud stalwarts One and Other, alongside Jaime J Ross. This is a trippy, exotic backcloth with a cold North wind blowing through. 
Gary once again amazed with his creativity and his multi-layered production. He has such a keen ear for detail and brushstrokes to enhance and improve. What grabbed me from the outset was the slinky, fluid bass playing, but there are many levels across the frequencies to hook you in. Always a fun process to work with him.

Happy Friday to all of you. I hope 2023 is treating you well so far. I’m doing my best to focus my free-range mind on creative endeavors; definitely the most positive use of my time. And to that end, I’m happy to admit I’m still keeping to my 2023 music goals (2 tracks a month). And the track I get to share with you today is particularly exciting.

It’s been a goal of mine for a few years now to try out one of Andre’s (noxpox: https://soundcloud.com/noxpox-page-12, https://noxpox.bandcamp.com/) open collabs. His most recent offering ‘kannmangebrauchen’ (https://soundcloud.com/noxpox-page11/noxpox-kannmangebrauchencan-be-used) was particularly enticing; and this resulting remix is an equally thrilling surprise for me. In fact, this might be the closest I’ve come to the 80s and 90s stylings of my favorite Industrial bands (Skinny Puppy, NiN, Ministry, Front 242, etc.). 

Of course, no GrevusAnjl remix would be complete without at least a little uplifting cuteness hidden in the folds (I tried to keep it dark and edgy. I really did. But the cuteness just seeps in). So if you’re in the market for adorable Industrial, I might have just what you need. I hope you enjoy my GrevusAnjl ‘Repurposed For Dance’ remix of a very cool noxpox original. :)

The problem is, I don't know Japanese but I really like the music.
The original was performed by veteran singer-songwriter Hideaki Tokunaga.  
I kind of shifted a little bit towards country pop in my arrangement and added an outro sax for completeness.  Just see what you think.
