Experimental - Poetic - Analog

Like Aliens In The Woods

Mr Eart

…was founded in 2007 in Amsterdam by musicians from Germany, Holland, Norway and Portugal. Since then, the band made a CD (“Facts in the case of the mysterious pop murders”) with the independent label Neuklang and played concerts in clubs and festivals all over Europe.

As a bassist Marcel toured for years, from Island to Morocco and from Venezuela to South Korea, before creating a new Berlin-line up. He worked together with producers such as Yensin Jahn (Planet Roc Studio, Mando Diao, Alice Cooper, Till Brönner) and Andy Jung (Seed, Blackmail), among others.

Marcel Krömker, founder of the band, writes the songs on his double bass, that huge instrument that makes kids as much as grown-ups curious when it walks around the city. In Mr Eart, the bass stands proudly in the front.

Argentinean singer Laura Flor Corallini joined him in 2011. Daughter of tango composer Luis Corallini, Flor grew up surrounded by studio recordings, while the passionate Buenos Aires effervesced outside. In Mr Eart, her voice flutters around the double bass, and warmly invites the audience to take part in rhythmic clapping soundscapes.

Based on its bass and vocals core and the use of acoustic instruments, Mr Eart crosses traces of songwriting and improvisation with experimental pop and electronic music. 

With sensuality and warmth, the five musicians embody oblique nostalgia in the garb of second hand science fiction. Mr Eart melts analogue aesthetics with poetry, to arrive to an exquisite blend of experimental songs.
