This is the latest EP in my Bandcamp self release series titled 'The Wall'. This piece is less dancefloor orientated exploring a more experimental side of my work as you can hear with the two ambient pieces and the track 'honeydietyfunk' although I have still managed to slip in a one jungle track in the form of 'Do U Feel'.

Within this EP there has been a heavy use on vinyl sampling and sounds I have captured on my travels. This can be especially heard in track 3 which is based around a conversation on whether the best way to eat oats lol. This is also similar in the ambient pieces where the samples came almost exclusively from one trip. But yeh hope you enjoy, available on my Bandcamp and streaming platforms shortly.

Also I thought I would include the piece of artwork I created for my end of year uni project (also will release soon). Gonna put this up for availability on here and will also include my back catalogue for free with the purchase. (Available on my bandcamp)

On her sophomore album "Germ in a Population of Buildings”, upsammy moves through her surroundings with the curiosity of a place-bending landscape architect. The album is rooted in her interest for ambiguous environments in constant shift, and the feeling of discovering strange patterns in different ecosystems. Often, the Amsterdam-based artist finds herself zooming in and out beyond a place's most recognizable surface features to inhabit the microscopic and gigantic. Gathering field recordings and evocative environmental sounds, she shapes this source material into vibrating electro-acoustic rhythms and unstable, psychedelic textures.

upsammy's debut album, 2020's critically-acclaimed "Zoom", was praised for its careful reimagining of IDM, evolving vignettes that nodded towards the dancefloor without being shackled to its rigid set of rules. On "Germ in a Population of Buildings" her process has evolved considerably; the skeletal trace of IDM is still present but it's been trapped in amber, allowing her unique sonic landscape to develop organically. 'Being is a Stone' is a proof of concept in many ways, layering upsammy's contorted voice in rickety patterns beneath a lattice of fragile rhythms and faintly melancholy synths. It's never immediately obvious where the sounds are coming from - a hiccuping beat might be glass cracking underfoot, and larger pulses could be wet concrete, rusted iron or bent plastic. As the sounds develop they morph into each other, demolishing what came before and building on top of the ornamental wreckage.

On the dynamic 'Constructing', upsammy's sound design fluxes through hyperactive bass music structures, abstracting expectations at every turn. Often her sounds are whisper quiet, rattling and vibrating until heavier masonry drops and disrupts the structure. And when discernible rhythms subside into the background, like on the album's eerie title track, they become almost illusory, morphing between the real world and the electronic. upsammy's processed voice works like a bridge between these realms, snaking between stark, whimsical melodies on 'Patterning', arching from AutoTuned detachment into cooing, dreamy intimacy. By considering the harmonies between each location she's visited, upsammy has been able to build a unique topology that's an uncanny digital amalgam of her lived experience. It's a thoughtful alternative in an era more concerned with flatting the landscape than crumpling it and examining its peaks and troughs.

Grey Meta presents The Whippings of Mass Distraction, the new 4 track EP from Technoist @The-Teknoist.

The EP features remixes by highly respected artists, @BenPest and @CocktailPartyEffectMusic, who have both contributed their unique spin to Miike's original tracks. Ben Pest's remix of Quest for Kenneth the Space Knife turns the more straight-kicking existing piece into a more swampy and groovy squat rave techno affair.

Whilst Cocktail Party Effect's remix of Causal Loop Paradox takes the
original's beautifully epic hang drum melodic element and runs with the musical idea, adding layers upon layers, where the end result builds to a frenzied energy that will leave listeners in a chaotic trance ...all while having zero drums. Sublime.

Miike cited Mary Anne Hobbs' BBC Radio 6 Music “Techno Tuesday” slot as an inspiration for The Whippings of Mass Distraction. In particular, the opening track, Causal Loop Paradox, which is a direct response to her much-loved and respected show.

Miike said “I can see and am actively filling a gap in the current techno sound, one in which I already exist in but intend to thrive in. I’m not making recreation pieces of pre-existing and already popular styles of techno. Instead, I am both influenced and incensed to create something new. A mutation of the existing themes, if you will. “Mutant Techno” if you are someone that insists on pigeonholing everything!”.

Miike has been a pioneer of hardcore techno and breakcore for over two decades under his moniker The Teknoist, but over the last few years he has focussed on, and released a considerable amount of more, what could be described as “more reasonable tempo techno and electronic music”, under his other moniker, Technoist. Throughout the years, as The Teknoist, Miike has released on record label titans such as Planet Mu, Ad Noiseam, Industrial Strength, Deathchant and Peace Off. As Technoist, he has been able to add Love Love, Industrial Strength's 'Hard Electronic' and even Leisure System to his list of outlets, all alongside his multiple own record labels, Ninja Columbo, Samurai Brylkream, Our Fucking Jungle and now his newest joint venture, Grey Meta.

In addition to his music career, Miike has always been a positive outspoken advocate for mental illness and health awareness. He uses his platforms and blog to raise awareness and break down the stigma around mental illness and health issues. He is a passionate spokesperson for people that live with Bipolar, ADHD, Autism and Schizophrenia, as he does himself.

Unbeyond Anthologies are pleased to present LUCID’s solo debut on the label in the form of her new EP, “Found Footage”.

Opening on a stark and desolate note with “on a dark and stormy night” that sets the tone for what is to come, this project mixes ghastly deathstep atmospheres and production with a thrilling retro futuristic horror theme. Songs such as “Good Intentions” and “Foreshadowing” throw their weight around with devastating impact, a seamless blend of old and new sonic textures.

“ALARM” slows down the pace with heaving sound design and wailing melodies, the tempo mirrored by the title track with its sinuous growls and anthemic synthwave leads. “Survive” contains frazzled flows and dizzying trap percussion, while the closer “Midnight (Credits)” ends on a delightfully ghoulish downtempo drop.

“My first EP since ‘BLOODSHED’ in 2021, and with a much more in-depth tracklist and theme. Speaking of, when starting the title track, I was very into GREYLOCK, an online analog horror with some found footage segments, with the title track directly themed to tape 10 of the series. The more general musical ideas and tone started finding their way into more of my projects of the time and continued to be fleshed out until I collected the songs and made the theme more concrete.” said LUCID. “Although not personally attached to me like my albums, I do find this to be a very important step in my music, so I hope it shows.
