Julius is a Dutch DJ who lives in the northern part of Holland. He scrapes his vinyl off the internet. The last few years his focus is more on the dubtechno genre. The second installment in our mix series comes from Bjarnar Jónsson who runs the outstanding Ohm Series label. With a back catalogue spanning over twenty years, Ohm is a mainstay of the deep techno scene. He appeared on Lempuyang in June this year with Octal Industries, and also features on the label's one year anniversary compilation. He's also a thoroughly nice bloke and a fucking good DJ.

As with all of my mixes, but perhaps more so than any other... this one is a deep bastard - I'm talking "it would take 2 hours for a big fucking ship to strike the basin" deep.

A selection of older and newer material from the great ocean of techno. Opening with some glowing, deep and melodic sounds, we traverse through the razor sharp sonics of Quantec (a track from his new album, <a href="http://www.discogs.com/Quantec-1000-Vacuum-Tubes/release/3644316" target="_blank">1000 Vacuum Tubes</a>) and the minimal mystique of Grad_U to some blissed out and sublime electronic dub tracks including a classic cut from Rhythm & Sound.

A sequence of zoned-out atmospheric tech house brings this mix home with some very special new tracks on some of my favourite labels, including Telrae, Illian Tape and Echocord before we close up with an absolutely timeless track, "Evil Dub" taken from Swayzak's 1998 classic <a href="http://www.discogs.com/Swayzak-Snowboarding-In-Argentina/master/64157" target="_blank">Snowboarding In Argentina LP</a>.
