Greyscale’s Mood Series hits its 146th edition with the return of Italian producer Dib, delivering Quadrans 002, his first release for the label since 2020’s Quadrans 001.1. Known for precision and detail, Dib again demonstrates his knack for meticulously crafted dub techno. 'Opener Quadrans 002.1' eases in with hazy, flowing chords that evoke the gentle distortion of analog radio interference. Beneath, a tight rhythmic framework features a punchy kick and crisp snare that keeps things concise while leaving space for the atmosphere to breathe. 'Quadrans 002.2' ups the tempo subtly, pairing taut beats and clever chord delays with a sense of unease via an eerie melodic thread. This tension eventually dissolves, allowing the groove to stretch out in pure techno flow. On 'Quadrans 002.3', Dib’s chord work turns intricate and hypnotic, pulling focus while the rhythm and textural flow stay in a supportive role. It’s a study in “selective hearing”, encouraging the listener to sink deep into its layered motion. Closing cut 'Quadrans 002.4' arrives with the most assertive chords of the set, each note echoing into the mix alongside metallic percussive reflections. The interplay between the warm harmonic swells and sharp tonal accents gives it a yin-yang energy, a fitting and memorable conclusion. With Quadrans 002, Dib delivers a finesse to these detailed tracks that sink in deep. It’s both a strong continuation of his Quadrans concept and another fine chapter in Greyscale’s global dub techno chronicle.

The 147th edition of the long-running Mood Series introduces a fresh new name to its catalog: Marek Bartůněk, a Czech-born, Scotland-based musician, DJ, remixer and visual artist. His debut for the label, Images Without Meanings, is a five-track release that balances atmosphere, structure and mood.
The title track, 'Images Without Meanings', begins with an airy, dreamlike quality. Hovering chords and a firm beat create an organic, almost cinematic world. By the end, the echo blossoms until it feels like a fading memory. Its counterpart, 'Movies Without Sound', follows with metallic chords that bounce as if off unseen surfaces. It’s a track that thrives on layering. Deep, mid-tempo and brimming with a sense of quiet contentment. 'What Ifs Without Hopes' pushes things into darker, heavier territory. Anchored by the record’s boldest bassline, it builds with aquatic textures and cavernous resonance. The swirling chords and hypnotic groove add to the momentum. From there, 'About The Scene' (featuring Inzajeano) introduces a sharper focus. The track is addictive in its straightforward execution, where crisp echoes and detailed sound design fuse into something classy. Closing the release, Inzajeano’s Sound Remix of the opener adds a fresh, tech-driven dimension. It fades in slowly, unveiling a slick bassline and unique rhythmic shape. A worthy reinterpretation that underscores the project’s versatility.
Overall, Images Without Meanings is a striking release for Bartůněk on the Mood Series. It has a balance of introspection and finesse, proving he’s a talent to watch as both a producer and conceptual sound artist.

"Following his debut appearance on Aurora Mística’s first compilation One Year, Fook Yue returns to the label with Everything Changes, an hypnotic exploration of techno, ambient, drone and deep electronic textures. Lake Teletskoye — the heart of Altai. Deep, silent, alive. Its surface breathes like the sky; its depths remember like the earth. Here, everything sounds different — a drop falls like eternity, the wind whispers like a prayer, and silence itself becomes music. Morning fog drifts across the still water; golden peaks shimmer in reflection, and it feels as if nature holds its breath to preserve the balance. Often called “the younger brother of Baikal,” Lake Teletskoye is revered in Altai as a living being — a keeper of ancient secrets, a mirror in which time gazes at itself. Seventy-seven kilometers long and three hundred twenty-six meters deep, its waters carry the echoes of millennia. The lake doesn’t simply flow — it remembers.

Vol. 7 of Mountain Altai VA is dedicated to this sacred lake — a place where light and sound merge into one. Nine tracks shimmer like reflections on the water, from the first drops of morning dew to the unfathomable darkness of its depths.

This part of the collection, created in celebration of the third anniversary of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], is dedicated to balance — between light and depth, silence and sound, the heard and the felt. Night Walk is a collection of pieces born from a moonlit winter walk in the forests of Röstånga, Sweden, during a “Circle of Live – In Bloom” retreat, where the infinite darkness, the sounds and quiet glimmers of light between the trees became the foundation for the album.

Each track explores that atmosphere, translating the sensory experience of the forest into sound. Carefully chosen samples trace the delicate presence of nature — rustling leaves, the faint call of birds — while dub-inflected rhythms pulse beneath, grounding the ethereal textures. Layered vocals drift like echoes through the trees, a human thread woven through rhythm, reverb, and stillness.
