'I wear my flesh like a necklace' is a diptych of which the installation exhibited at Exist festival 2022 in Athens is the first part. The second one is this track, transcribing the emotions of the installation that reflect on the idea of being torn part, dislocated and lost between paradoxical feelings that are haunting us at our core. Parallely, it conveys our capacity to transcend them and sublimate the pain into beauty. For this track, I am mixing field recorded samples of materials used in the installation (such as chains, hooks, latex pieces) but also my own voice repeating the mantra I wrote that constitutes the core of this project “A sea of flames, I wear my flesh like a necklace“. The samples are melted into black ambient sound scapes and ghostly synth melodies, reflecting on the ever-morphing and lively aspect of emotions, as an endless stream flowing rather than something that is crystallized. Alternating between dissonance and harmornics, this track is mirroring our human experience where beauty always arises from the shattered walking chaos of life.

tune i made in 1993 using Sound Edit Pro on a Macintosh SE30 with SyQuest 44Mb Harddisc Cartridges and a cheapo sound sample device for the macintosh with 8 bit and 22,05 khz. "Mastered" down to a Compact Audiotape. This is the original resampled version with all the tape hiss and digital cut clicks you going to love!

No Sequencing or Midi Devices been used, just the plain sample editor Sound Edit Pro. It was just the time i then switched to Soundtracker PlayerPro for Macintosh. Harddisc recording at a time where it was just in Beta Phase and not for those with any money to buy any Pro Outboard.
