A number of years ago while working in the ICU one of the patients died and coded after heart surgery. He was only 42 years old.  He did survive after being dead for about 15 minutes.  When visiting with him the next day he told me of his experience of going to heaven and given a choice to stay or come back.  He had smaller children and although he wanted to stay he chose to come back. What really made it interesting was that while we were coding him and before he left for heaven he could see us working on him and could give me details of what was happening. That is the inspiration for this piece.
