This piece is a rhythmic, harmonically dense sort of scherzo for solo piano.  Inspired by the ideals of impromptus, the music moves to sometimes surprise the listener and contain an air of freedom, shifting from tight, modal block chords to more classical progressions.  With an atmosphere of giddiness and ironic seriousness, it is a piece that naturally falls into the category of a "Cartoon". Performed by Alex Shanafelt

I wanted to draw on the nuances of sounds; how every line has its own curves and edges.
For example, when your heart rate fluctuates, and rapidly shifts, those calm moments can morph into insanity in a split second. 
By using a single suspended cymbal, i wanted to play with the resonances and attacks of the sounds, reflecting these contour shifts.
