To celebrate Grid 2nd anniversary, we gathered together thirteen earth-shattering tracks from the bass scene’s most promising creators, all aimed to move you in the most primordial way. Evoking images of vast landscapes and deep underground catacombs.

This compilation takes the listener deep into the earth with twisted percussion workouts from the likes of Jabes, Piezo, Ronan and Sister Zo… and back into the light with serene compositions from E-unity, Tammo Hesselink and A Psychic Yes, whilst Jay Duncan, Basile3 y Clara!, Jonny From Space, Flaty, Seekersinternational, and blu-e join the dots with their genre-defying creations.

As was the case with Grid’s previous compilations 'Improvisations' and 'Da Capo Al Coda', the label once again puts its stamp on a moment in the underground by collecting together productions of the highest quality that push the boundaries but undeniably make you want to move.

Jonny From Space - Never The Right Time

Embark on a beautiful musical journey with Stefan Vincent's latest track, "Yonghegong Lama Temple Exit F," featured in his upcoming EP "Pre Melancholy." Scheduled to be released on June 30th via Musar Recordings, Vincent's four-track EP sets the stage for his highly anticipated album on Musar, slated for September. The EP also boasts a remarkable remix by Priori, adding an extra layer of creative depth to the collection.

"Yonghegong Lama Temple Exit F" showcases Vincent's mastery of crafting intricate percussion and a broken beat structure. The track's standout feature is an enchanting xylophone melody that takes center stage, effortlessly guiding the listener through its complex layers.

Jonny From Space is the moniker of Miami-based producer, DJ, and co-founder of Impacto, Jonathan Trujillo.

After two EP’s on Omnidisc and a few more self-released, Incienso is excited to announce his debut solo LP, ‘back then I didn’t but now I do’.

Loping drum loops, warbling synth lines, sun-streaked pads and voice amble into the depths  of the humid world Jonny’s music inhabits, where tempos shift and often float off into the ether altogether.

In the words of JFS himself- this album is “built 2 chill”

Crespi Drum Syndicate is a collaboration between long-time friends and musical cohorts, Pablo Arrangoiz (El Gusano/Goiz) and Jonathan Trujillo (Jonny From Space). "Beats" developed from a desire to make music centered around rhythm and percussion, atonal sounds, inharmonic hooks, and a mutual agreement to refrain from melody and harmony as much as possible. The record is the result of their first sessions with this concept in mind. Inspired by the proto-techno of '60s and '70s Italian library music, motorik kraut grooves, Latin dance music, orchestral percussion pieces, dancehall riddims, and dub engineering.

Written, recorded, and mixed in Coral Gables, Florida, August to September 2022. 

Out September 6th, 2024. Edition of 100 CD-R's.
