@skip011 lands on Grid with his second EP 'Breathworks', following his debuts on Stoneground last year. The Torino-based producer offers us four mind-blowing tracks blending dubstep with organic textures (reminding us a certain Kevin Murf).
Megamangled makes it clear from the outset what is going to happen : an uncompromising release in which basses and silences are chirurgically combined to create outstanding grooves. Foxiness continues on the slow and heavy vibe, adding shamanic deep voices and futuristic sounds from the jungle.The eponymous track Breathworks seems to pitch the BPM up but this dark mechanical groove with strange breathing sounds actually stays on the dubstep side, perfect for a party in Twin Peaks's Black Lodge. The closing track Everything Dubbed takes things even further on organic textures, drowning rusty iron percussions into the ocean depths.
