Grid Based Beats is a music production studio and techno label based out of Chicago. Our samples are created using analog gear including drum machines, vintage synths and a modular synthesizer system. While our focus and passion will always be Techno, our samples can be used in multiple electronic music genres. 

The samples created in our studio are surgically processed through a hybrid analog and digital chain, resulting in an efficient workflow to the end user. Just drop them in any DAW and go.

Sample Packs by Grid Based Beats

This sample pack contains 32 synth loops created using a vintage Akai VX90 synthesizer. The samples are geared for techno and house music productions. The synth loops in the pack are comprised of chord stabs, melodic strings, glitchy synth lines and rich bass loops.

All samples are in the same key and clocked at 135BPM in order to be easily interchangable within your productions.

Further, the samples were recorded dry using high end A/D conversion and light, corrective EQ. Process them any way you want.

Recorded at 24bit and 44.1kHz.

August 2021 - Somewhere, Iowa, I got to throw down some techno at one of the most beautiful campgrounds on my favorite sound system I’ve played on in a long time. 

The conditions became “interesting” when a nasty squall line of severe storms blasted through the area, coincidentally during my set. 

The invasion crew was so professional in having the massive sound system, gear, booth, and everything covered in a matter of 3 transitions, leaving me in a white tarp encased dj booth where I powered through. I feel like this set really complemented the conditions appropriately. Hope you enjoy.

Mod Distortion Drums contains 32 drum loops and 68 one shots for a total of 100 samples. Various drum machines were used to create this pack. The machines were routed and mangled through multiple modulation sources, tape and distortion effects.

The samples are designed for hard techno and modern industrial productions. The samples were meticulously engineered and no additional processing is needed. The loops can also fit right into any digital DJ set.

All loops are clocked at 135BPM and are easily interchangable.

Concept Techno Volume One is the first of a series of sample packs by Grid Based Beats with the objective of full-scale construction kits designed for making hard techno. All samples clock at 135BPM and correspond to the same musical key, making it easy to drop these samples into any DAW or hardware sampler and achieve a smooth workflow.

The sample pack includes drum loops, one shots, bass and synth lines as well as ambient drones. The samples were created using various hardware including a modular synthesizer system and analog drum machines. The synth samples include wet and dry versions. Some samples also have multiple measure lengths (2, 8, 16, etc.) to allow for filter sweeps and modulation to evolve.

The drum loops include full and broken down versions (kick removed) as well as corresponding one-shot samples. The machines were processed through analog compression with light EQ. Includes 89 samples, recorded at 24bit and 44.1kHz.

In our second Sequences series, this release contains 64 samples that were created using multiple synth sources and sequenced with a variety of tools from arpeggiators to euclidean rhythms. The focus was on using random generators and then chopping those sequences into 2-4 measure loops. The samples in this release have a tempo of 130 BPM and are divided into two musical keys for easily constructing lush combinations.

While intended for use with electronic/techno music, these samples can also be a perfect tool for cinematic and video production uses.

Reductive Patterns features 73 samples that consist of one shot drum samples, drum loops and various synth loops designed for techno and minimal productions. The loops include punchy, mallet style synth lines, dub style chord stabs and filtered bass loops. This pack was created using multiple analog synth sources and recorded using an analog processing chain. The loops are all in the key of A-minor and have a tempo of 129BPM.

All loops are designed to be easily interchanged with one another. This allows you to use this pack to make complete compositions or easily use within a digital DJ set. Also included are one shot drum files to make a complete drum kit within any sampler or DAW.

Includes 73 samples, recorded at 24bit and 44.1kHz.
