DJ Shadow, widely acknowledged as a crucial figure in the development of experimental, instrumental hip-hop, has returned with ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ via Mass Appeal Records [and Believe Digital in France], his first full length release since 2011. The 12-track album finds DJ Shadow exploring new realms in addition to the deep samples and kinetic soundscapes that helped to launch his career 20 years ago. On ‘The Mountain Will Fall’ he’s shifted further toward original composition, a vast experimentation of beats and textures, synthesizers and live instruments including horns and woodwinds. If you know jump-up, then you’ve pretty much definitely heard of Callum Slight. Under the alias Levela he plays as a resident at Innovation and Devotion, two of the key go-to parties for pushing this strand of heavy D&B. 

Slight’s dubs first caught the attention of DJ Phantasy whose early support no doubt helped established him in the scene, and in the studio he’s collaborated alongside respected names such as Skibadee and Harry Shotta.

Outside of production, he’s also an unrelenting force behind the decks. Like his renowned peers, Slight is also known for playing a weighty style of electronic music at 170BPM. With his FABRICLIVE debut coming up this Friday, he fired us over an hour of fresh jump-up heat to let us know what to expect in Room One.

Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma have caused, to put it lightly, widespread damage throughout numerous regions. Thousands of families have been displaced, and unfortunately the number is only growing as the wind and water continue to take their tolls.
With the cost of repairing and aiding the affected areas rising every minute, help is needed more than ever. MMXVAC has taken it upon themselves to help in the
best way they know how, compiling and releasing an EP of previously unreleased tracks. Future bass, dubstep, bass house, and more are contained throughout
Proximity EP’s 16 tracks, satisfying tastes from all across the spectrum. The collective will be donating 100% of proceeds through Houston Texan J.J.
Watt’s relief effort via YouCaring, with the hopes of donating as much money as possible while also inspiring their fellow artists in the community to do the same and create good music for a good cause.
