CMD is Corina MacDonald, a Montreal music producer, DJ, and radio programmer whose DJ sets and live performances fuse synth-laden aesthetics of techno, electro and house music. CMD has released a series of EPs to date that reflect a range of musical influences and preoccupations. Her most recent endeavors include Social Factory Reset (Fixed Rhythms 2021) and Precarious Pursuit (2021), as well as contributions to the Montreal-based fundraising compilations Re:Conceive (2023) and Dances Across Borders (2020, 2022). She has performed at many of Montreal’s iconic electronic music events, such as MUTEK and Piknic Electronik, as well as in underground clubs and parties, and has been billed alongside a variety of international acts including Ben Klock, Plaid, Lauren Flax and Robert Hood. As the host of Modular Systems on CKUT 90.3 FM she presents new music, guest mixes and live performances every other Sunday afternoon.

For this occasion, we decided to donate the proceeds of the sales to the victims of the earthquake that struck Syria and Turkey on 6 February 2023 through the Italian Red Cross association.

Special thanks to Davide Pepe, a multidisciplinary Italian artist, who contributed to the graphic design of the compilation with an image created from the waves of the sea eroding the beach, thus creating a visual effect of the earth rising.
