Pioneer of the Asian Massive movement, Sharaab (aka Saurabh Bose) brings something just a bit different to Goa Chillout Zone. Sharaab calls his style ethnoclash, combining traditional Eastern instruments, electro beats, and deep dubstep wobbles to create a fusion of world music with electronic sounds. Though he is better known for driving beats and moving bodies on dance floors, with “Skyfall”, he revs things down to a more cerebral level.

“Skyfall” breathes into the listener’s ear. A tide of sound rises and recedes and rises again. Layers of melodic instruments build and wash out of the speakers. Then the beat comes in. It doesn’t drop; it blooms. And there is no mistaking Sharaab’s signature global sound. Cut up female vocals hint at a lyric that the conscious brain can’t quite grasp, but if you just close your eyes, you might understand…

Whereas most dubstep artists are known for their heavy beats and wobbles, Sharaab’s melodics have always set him apart. “Skyfall” pulls all that to the forefront, washing over the listener in waves. Lyrics hide, and ghost vocals play at the back of the listener’s waking mind. As the last vibrations fade out and silence takes over, you can breathe in silence… Or you could hit Play, and let it wash and pulse over you. One. More. Time.

Kataphasis is an ancient Greek word that means "affirmation." So, aside from my usual electrocoustic bass-centric musical ramblings, I've been working on another project for about the past 3 years with my brother, http://soundcloud.com/brynburnell.  We call this project "Dersu Uzala", named after a russian film made in the late 70's.   It's a mish mash of live recorded piano, bass, guitar, melodica, percussion and other various soundscapes and field recordings and vocals from my good friend Malky Taylor.

griff is one of Australia’s leading purveyors of highly varied and unique bass music.  Since 2009, griff has created many LPs, EPs and remixes, released on renowned labels such as Omelette, Addictech, Enig'Matik Records, Slurp Music and Buxton Records.  

As an assistant engineer at Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne, Australia he worked on albums by The Cat Empire, The Jon Butler Trio, Blue King Brown, The Dirty Three and many more. 

Playing his original compositions and DJing all manner of styles and genres he has toured the world moving crowds at festivals such as Shambhala Music Festival in Canada, Boom in Portugal, Symbiosis and Burning Man in the US and Rainbow Serpent Festival in his home country of Australia. 

He enjoys laughing and is uncomfortable talking in the 3rd person.
