Jyoti B.Fly, a 19-year DJ veteran, radio host of the legendary world music show Wo'Pop at KEXP, and resident DJ at Caravan Seattle, is all about advocating for creative freedom as the fuel for social change. With a passion for global sounds including house, breaks, and funk, she crafts journeys within the realms of electronic dance music and beyond.  Within her communities, she advocates for systems change by bridging cultures and fostering authentic self-expression, using music, creativity, and art.

Before she became Black Velveteen,
Chris Offutt was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. Her parents introduced her to a wide range of music; Motown to Mozart and everything in between. Some frequently featured artists in young Chris’s house were Aretha Franklin, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder and James Taylor. Current influences include Chris Fortier, Amonita, Wilma, Nora En Pure, Tayllor, Andre Lodemann, Bedouin, and Matt Sawyer to name a few.

From a very young age she dreamed of hosting her own radio show. In 2011 that dream became when she had her own show “ Progressions in House” on FNOOB based out of London.
Chris enjoyed DJing around the San Francisco Bay Area from 2012-2019 . In 2012 she became the resident DJ and musical director at Aloft Hotel SFO. In 2013 Djing in the Pride Parade on the W Hotel float. In 2015 she was asked to perform on the Tantra Stage for Pride in San Francisco. She was in rotation at The End Up and did guest spots and Monarch, The Great Northern and Wish. In 2016 Chris was asked to join AirPusher Collective. She has also done guest mixes for FriskyRadio, Proton Radio and Elastic Beatz, Innerflight, Space Medicine and more. She currently enjoys residencies at Caravan, Reflect and is coproducer and resident at Habitat Seattle Velveteen's style and sound is indescribable as she reaches for sounds and music that turn her listeners on to a new experience.

GriffinGrrl is a dynamic catalyst in dance music, fostering creative collaborations across cities, genres, and experiences. Emily’s journey began in the 90s Los Angeles rave scene then she became DJ Ms.E, a radio host on KUSF’s FutureBreaks.FM, and co-founder of San Francisco's club night Eklektic. Her passion for positive, music-driven media has led to collaborations with XLR8R Magazine, Xbox Entertainment, vinyl and digital record labels, film & TV sync licensing, and numerous performances in the U.S. and internationally. Emily is a trusted community builder and mentor, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of music and tech leaders. Known for her magnetic, uplifting sets, GriffinGrrl is now based in Seattle representing Uniting Souls Music.
