The Congolese writer and artist experiments boldly across soul, hip hop, electronica, and whatever feels true. Influenced by Michael Jackson, Cleo Sol, and Kanye West, her sound resists labels—and leans into freedom.

Often linked to the Nigerian alté scene for her genre-fluid style and introspective edge, DebbyCathrine brings a faith-rooted Congolese voice to the mix—using music as a form of quiet rebellion, reflection, and self-discovery.

Since 2017, she’s used songwriting as a way to explore her own journey, experimenting with different sounds and storytelling techniques. Her releases from 2020 onwards—including What Are You Waiting For, Beloved, Unsolved Mysteries, Be More, and Wes’s Genee: The Soundtrack—weave personal growth, fictional storytelling, and spiritual undertones into each track.
