The reissue of classic and seminal releases from the Tresor catalogue comes round to Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 by "The Vision" aka Robert Hood which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. 

Released in the same year he left UR and his hometown of Detroit, Waveform Transmission Vol. 2 represents a pivotal moment in Hood's career as his move to New York with fellow UR co-founder Jeff Mills led to Hood experimenting with a new work ethos through which he settled on his trademark sound. 

Fast, aurally assaulting, yet funky - the release is techno as effective as it can possibly be; in this version, remastered by Thomas P. Heckmann, we see the first results of his transmutation as Hood manipulates the raw sounds he would soon distil into seminal works like Internal Empire and Minimal Nation. 

Ever philosophical and spiritual, in the sleeve notes for the release Hood dedicated the release "to the form of simplicity[,] the reasoning of vision[,] the understanding of where we came from and how we got here and to the perspective we use to construct over destiny" - words which from our early 2020s vantage point almost foresee the influence this intuitive work would have on artists working from Birmingham to Berlin and beyond over the next three decades.

The latest white vinyl and digital release welcomes back Polish star DEAS to the roster who is fresh off the back of EP's on Abstract Division's Dynamic Reflection and Marco Bailey’s MATERIA as he continues to make strong impressions with his expertly crafted dance floor weapons.

"Central Square" has a driving and dark edge with energy-fuelled stabbing synths and complete with gothic chords.

Second up is "Roses Avenue" that focuses on rising tension and intense groove with a hypnotic core.

Next is title track "HUTA" that is powerful and punchy using an acid riff and to spin you out and cast you under it's spell.

Closing with "Structure" a more considered and esoteric take of techno with a dystopian melody at the break alongside rolling rhythms and subtle vocal chants.

Pär Grindvik has been a central figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s as record store owner, label manager and producer. In his artistic career Pär has released music across a plethora of acclaimed electronic labels, including a string of hits on his own Stockholm LTD imprint as well as Drumcode, with frequent collaborator Hardcell. Pär’s recent output has seen him contribute music to labels such as Semantica, Marbacka, Sinister and Dystopian.

Founded in 2002, Stockholm LTD began as an outlet for singles and EPs from Swedish artists with a focus on releasing timeless electronic music. It has since developed into a hallmark for finely crafted electronic music from a range of international artists.

Over the past two decades Pär’s involvement with the electronic music community has branched out across the globe. Openly passionate about supporting underground talent, Pär works closely with an ever-expanding repertoire of labels and artists.

As a DJ Pär tours the world, transporting his deft and uniquely dynamic DJ sets to techno fans internationally and on a weekly basis. His worldwide popularity as a performer stems not only from his skill and versatility but also as a result of the energy he puts into every performance. It's this combination that enables him to bring the heat to the best clubs in the world.

Pär continues to serve as one of the most exciting and hardworking contributors to the scene.
