Taken from the album “23 for PB” – a compilation album from within the Sheffield music scene, which pays tribute to Paul Bower, who died after a long battle with brain cancer. Paul was an integral part of grassroots music in Sheffield over several decades, as a performer under his various Sikorsky guises, as well as a visual artist. His friends and colleagues have put lovingly put together this tribute to him, with all profits going to the Sheffield Cat Shelter.
Echoing Paul’s love for all things ‘23’ – that magical number that can be traced back to William Burroughs, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV et al – the album features 23 artists contributing tracks all lasting exactly 2 mins 30 seconds each.
It’s an eclectic mix, showcasing Paul’s wide impact across Sheffield music, and in particular, his involvement in the city’s electronic music scene. From long-term luminaries, such as Clock DVA’s Adi Newton, Vice Versa and The Black Dog, to relative unknowns or deeply-hidden pseudonyms, this is primarily an electronic-focused compilation in all its many varieties.  It does, however, throw the odd curve ball, such as Fierce Whirlpool’s Residents-esque electro-skiffle, Gozzo’s indie stylings, or Steve Edwards’ soul song.
For adherents to Sheffield’s long standing as the stand-out UK city for electronic music, this album doesn’t disappoint. Adi Newton contributes a dark ambient musing on the weight of the soul, and Vice Versa have updated their classic “Trapped In Celluloid” for 2020’s strange times.
If you have an interest in Sheffield’s diverse music, both yesteryear or nowadays, there should be something here for you.

Grok Enrol were a two piece band based in Yorkshire. The band consisted of two former members of the (almost) legendary Sheffield garage/punk band The Nihilistics - namely Nile Manilow and Phil Geldof, who re-united in 2016 and recorded the album "All\Mix/Dup". 

The Weird & The Wonderful was the experimental electronica side project that eventually transmogrified into Åyusp.
