São Paulo-based DJ. producer and curator Amanda Mussi drops in to provide a hypnotising down-tempo, psychedelic mix for our next podcast. As she prepares the next chapter of releases on her Macro Hits label, she takes a momentary sidestep into the world of cerebral, after-hours electronica.

A rising figurehead in her scene, Mussi layers a stunning mix of “ambient electronics, combined with drone, stoner’s doom and IDM - a mix of styles that I enjoy off-dancefloor, featuring many emerging latin-american artists.”

"Even without the possibility of getting physically together, they couldn't stop No Way Back. No Way Back is a state of mind, a yearly ritual that takes us back to the source, and the DJs reconvene with that source and allow it to take different shapes in their hands, from their minds to yours. To perform without the crowd, how is that possible? To perform without the ritual space created by the art and intentions of Amber and crew, how is that possible? To have the music connect without Jim Gibbons massive sounds system holding you steady, enveloping you, being expertly dialed in with each new tune, how is that possible? Well, this year's impromptu NWB stream proved that the impossible is possible, that this type of connection can happen virtually if care is taken at every step, like mastering the audio and processing the visuals into a psychedelic space that can free the mind. 

This set was a sort of rebirth for me, after great personal tragedy and losing so much, while I did draw inspiration from the history of NWB, I did not feel limited by it. This set is more about where I want to see things go, my hopes for the future. It was also huge for me as it was my first time performing at No Way Back on CDJs, without Ableton, and this was both incredibly liberating and helped me hone my vision."

Avenue Red welcomes the second coming of the exquisitely tasteful, refined deep house and techno selector from Paris known as Caillou. Here he has delivered a mix not too dissimilar to his first, but has pushed a little deeper into the dreamier, sleepier territories of his unique record collection.

"I'd like to thank Alec for the opportunity to contribute again to Avenue Red.

I wanted to do something deep and mellow but with tracks that I actually play at parties when I get early morning slots, just pitched down a bit to have a more home listening feel. So all the tracks in there have been tested on dancefloors, but hopefully this is a mix you can listen to at home if you're stuck inside.

Resom has been a part of ://about blank since day once, hosting one of the first regular parties there together with DIWA (aka Artemis back in the days), called Memory. Laying the foundation for other genre crossing concept events to follow. Later Resom became a resident of the club and curated blank generation, one of the longest standing in-house events. After refraining from the regular booking business she installed "the amplified kitchen" in 2015, a talk show at the club featuring many cultural and political topics with diverse guests over the last years. 

But now to 90min of ninety minutes of eclectic goodness and distant rave feelings!

A DJ, writer, and event organizer, Lychee runs Spontaneous Affinity, a monthly mix and interview series, annual zine, and occasional event platform focused on how dancefloors have shaped artists. With sets focused on psychedelic and corporeal techno and adjacent sounds, they are also a monthly resident at Distrikt1 at Bossa Nova Civic Club in Brooklyn, exploring the harder edges of the genre.

Acid Camp Vol. 128 — Lychee

We start off this year's series with Anatolian Weapons. This DJ and producer from Athens has been releasing acclaimed work for over a decade on labels like @darkentriesrecords, @emotional-response, @luxrec, @dkmntl, with a recent release on the local @traumgarten's first VA. While his most known alias focuses on slo-mo trance, his @fantastikoihxoi moniker focuses on traditional music from the greater region of Greece and @dreamweapons_23 on EBD and Acid. The multidisciplinary producer's music is regularly played by @lenawillikens, @phuong-dan, @vladimir Ivcovic, and many others. Strap in for 60 minutes of ethereal bangers that spans trance, acid with hints of big beat, and techno. Lock in!
