Despite the lack of proper audience last saturday at Barmaglot Bar it was pretty nice to play this music for my close friends who occupied all surrounding space near me. Since it's not a night club the musical content of the mix is chilled at the beginning and groovy at the end, though i like it deeper. Some of the tracks will definitely will make it to the next Cosmic Picnic podcast. Enjoy!

Aidar live @ Barmaglot Bar (21.10.2017)

For our last podcast of the year and the 25th anniversary, we brought in the guys of Synästhesie, who have been very present on Soul Buttons (@soul-button) label Inner Symphony (@inner-symphony)and surprised us as forthcoming artists from Italy. Tracks like "Lotus" and  their remix for Rauschhaus' "The Miracle Of Million Lights" convince with patient atmospheric build-ups and continuos tension, that rises throughout the tracks. They try to keep the balance of darker and brighter elements and creating a nice harmony of both sides. Same can be said about this guestmix for our series, where they kick things of with a classic from Kollektiv Turmstraße, go visit darker places and finish it off with yet another uplifting classic, a remix from Âme.

Recording of a little jam sesh including some of the tracks that have been putting me in the feels lately. Didn't rehearse and made a couple slip ups, but I just played what felt right in that moment. Music to me is about a feeling, and a set is an emotional journey of sound. I just wanted to share this with you <3

This time i decided to speed up a bit earlier, so the grooves are not that lazy )
At the end when i got a bit drunk and atmosphere at the bar changed i decided to play some tracks from the beginning of this gig, don't mind that.

This is a journey. There are hints of darkness and ambiguity, a brooding sensation grows inside of you as you gaze into the unknown. There is pounding on the walls, flashing lights, a sense of doubt, and complete pandemonium. But in this darkness you may also find strength and courage. In the end it all depends upon your disposition. And so, if you prevail, you may find blissful euphoria. This life is strange, and we cannot even begin to understand it. 

This mix is strange, too. Dark techno gives way to emotional trance. As the BPM goes up, so does the mood. It is unconventional, much like this life. 

All I know is that I am in love with the journey.

Epoch 8: Paradigm Shift

Kazakhstan is not very well known for it’s electronic music scene but there are a few people who represent the country on a global scale and Aidar is one of them. He is a producer, promoter and a dj, wether it be his musical experiments under the alias of Wawawiwas or Cosmic Picnic festival and Elevation parties which are regularly held high up in Tian Shan mountains.

A true musical nomad and embassador of central asian music scene he has hosted shows on Energy FM, Proton Radio and shared decks with djs like M.Rux, Britta Arnold, Joyce Muniz, Paul Traeumer, Simple Symmetry, Bora Uzer, Shubostar, Theus Mago and many more. 

Aidar’s music includes digital and vinyl releases in different genres on various labels such as Spring Tube, Nang, Rune Recordings, Mind Over Matter, UBER and others.
