Did a sunday evening stream after a long break, been busy preparing Cosmic Picnic event outside of the city, the previous one was in september . Hopefully it will go well and i will manage to play these tracks there, really looking forward. 2020 has been an eye opening year, revealing many things about our friends, family, and ourselves. One such thing I've noticed is how we all live in our own little bubbles.  All our connections, people we associate with, brands and companies we like and follow on social media, everything so rapidly consumed and absorbed day in and day out, it is only now in confinement where I've become more aware of this....

On a semi-related side note,  I'm a huge basketball fan. Any of my close friends would know this, so I've been ecstatic that the NBA has returned. Each player is living inside a literal bubble give the Pandemic. This basketball bubble has had my full attention these last 2 weeks... so I found it quite funny and a fantastic coincidence that a fellow DJ and Tony @aka_tony came to me with a LOST mix idea with the theme of "BUBBLES," Soap bubbles to be exact.  Thomas Williams alias @aka_tony started out as a DJ in Switzerland in the last century. I discovered him since he's played a few of my tracks in his mixes (thanks bud).  Since 2018 he spreads love and nice tunes as a resident at Radio GDS.FM in Zurich, where he has his own broadcasting slot. With Aka-Tapes Thomas runs his own podcast blog on Soundcloud. In the last couple of months he has crafted various podcasts for different channels around the globe. 

I was curious, so I asked him, how did this theme originate? His response was:

"After an eventful, beautiful and challenging decade in which people seemed to have found peace, determination and clarity, the situation changed abruptly. Almost from one day to the next, uncertainty, great challenges and suspicion returned. Everything and anything was questioned and the most adventurous theories made the rounds. People soon no longer knew who was friend or foe. Information was interpreted in a way that always protected their own interests. Objectivity and attentiveness were lost. To deal with this situation, creative people discovered the concept of the soap bubble. Soap bubbles with which one could wrap all the abstruse theories and theorists and gently send them on a journey of knowledge. So they discovered that the earth was not a flat disk after all and said also goodbye to many other absurd theories. So if you are desperate about all the uncertainties that will challenge you in the present and the near future, this mix will help you to wrap gruesome ideas and concepts into a soap bubble and send them on the much needed journey of knowledge."

Played in the heart of the Mexican jungle for an intimate group of friends on New Year's Day. As the sun rose for the first time in the new year, these deep and melodic grooves nod to the lessons and difficulties of 2020, while carrying us into the light, beauty, and possibilities of 2021. 

My mantra for the set was "See the Good", and I sincerely hope you feel this guiding principle through the journey I take you on.

Kazakhstan is not very well known for it’s electronic music scene but there are a few people who represent the country on a global scale and Aidar is one of them. He is a producer, promoter and a dj, wether it be his musical experiments under the alias of Wawawiwas or Cosmic Picnic festival and Elevation parties which are regularly held high up in Tian Shan mountains.

A true musical nomad and embassador of central asian music scene he has hosted shows on Energy FM, Proton Radio and shared decks with djs like M.Rux, Britta Arnold, Joyce Muniz, Paul Traeumer, Simple Symmetry, Bora Uzer, Shubostar, Theus Mago and many more. 

Aidar’s music includes digital and vinyl releases in different genres on various labels such as Spring Tube, Nang, Rune Recordings, Mind Over Matter, UBER and others.
