My Favorite Flat songs

I've been trying to write this song for months. I moved and shifted the melodies around, trying to fit them into pieces they really didn't belong. I arrived here, at a simple piano and cello duet. No mass string orchestra, no rock band style. I think it shows better this way. I have never been suicidal, please don't fret over something like that, this piece is just emotional. When I wrote this, it was about my feelings in the moment, today, it's about me looking back. Life is a constant pendulum swinging from highs to lows, and back again. There were times where I felt my string had snapped, I was at the lowest of low points. I was at the edge of my breaking point, and I couldn't allow myself to sink so low. This song is all about those moments, where it seemed my reality would crash down on top of me. Thanks so much for listening, it means the world to me.

At The Edge

For years, the people of Ausea have feared the rising power of their King, David. He is a powerful wizard, and when he took the throne he was generous, and willing to understand the voice of the people. As time went on, he has become more corrupt, more demanding and ruthless of the people he controls. In the small town of Creed, a young boy named Enzo has been quietly making a name for himself as a young wizard. Taught by his grandfather Astrid, the boy has become increasingly better at understanding this power. At just 10 years of age, he won his first duel with another wizard. The last person to do this was King Dave himself. It was a moonlight night when the king ordered his militia to burn the neighboring village, Grund, to the ground. Right then and there, Astrid realized the decision he must make, someone needed to defeat the king, for the good of the world. Was he willing to risk his own grandson’s life that way? Enzo seemed ready to take the world by storm and save the kingdom he loved, but he would be no match for a wizard like David.

So this song wasn't really made by me, but by Madison Salsbury. It was originally a piano only piece, but it entranced me and I couldn't help myself, and put in an orchestra(and then percussion). It turned into one of the most amazing songs I feel I have ever written.

Sundown (Groovy Arrangement)

This song is probably the most epic sounding thing I've made in my opinion. I feel in love with the bassline and chord progression of this one. I have a sort of story to it too;

A soldier is called into battle. He is determined to do his part and win this war, get back to his family. There is no room for failure, and the stakes couldn't be higher than lives on the line. 

The first shots by the enemies are fired, and you can almost feel the soldiers heart beating as he starts to enter the fight. Rushes of emotion and memories flood him as he comes slowly closer to the enemy forces.

As the hero looks around, he sees the faces of soldiers he's bonded with over the time of his journey. He knows some of them will not be coming back, and he tries to imprint their memory in his mind. "Not coming back, but never going to surrender".

That was 20 years ago, now, the hero stands in the same spot he watched his brothers in arms die. Remembering the importance of what was lost that day. At peace would never describe how it felt, there is no peace on a battlefield. That day, the soldier remembered what it was like to be courageous.
