A simple man with his vision of the future... 

Tobias Bakker, a Dutch nuclear fusion expert researcher passionate about archaeology embarks on excavations in search of an extraterrestrial meteorite fragment somewhere in Egypt in the early 1980s. After its discovery, the fragment is transported under armed escort to the private government laboratory "TETRA" for in-depth research. 

Head of the research department, Tobias quickly faced high pressure from his hierarchy, who are determined to obtain rapid results to explore and harness the energy generated by the extraterrestrial fragment. After a series of inconclusive results, the laboratory forbids him from continuing his parallel research, which he believes to be more promising but less profitable. 

Having a laboratory at home, Tobias makes a bold and irreversible decision, taking advantage of the guards' inattention he discreetly steals a sample of the fragment. Along the way home, the container holding the sample unscrews slightly, inadvertently releasing a few particles of extraterrestrial radioactive material. In the excitement of the moment, Tobias unknowingly drops few pieces of contemned chewing gum into the green damp grass of Amsterdam's Westerpark. 

Arriving home, Tobias realizes that the sealed container holding the fragment is no longer airtight and understands that his days are numbered. He locks himself in and works relentlessly, conducting experiments on animals to discover if they can benefit from the fragment energy. 

Few days later, Tobias dies leaving behind him incomplete research that demonstrates the atomic fragment energy can enhance abilities in certain animal species, thus paving the way for further research on the hyper-evolution of the animal genome.

THE ORIGIN

Born in Martigues also known as the "Little Venice of Provence" (France), Julien Sammut aka Samo & Co is a multi-instrumentalist composer and music explorer. He began experimenting on Logic Pro fifteen years ago, starting with his first Synthwave album « Night Fragment » in 2014, he aimed to create a unique sensorial auditory experience blending sounds and fragrances from the 80s & 90s.

After 5 years travelling around the world looking for new musical perspectives, Julien returned to France in 2018 with a new Cyberpunk album "Odyssey" and the aspiration to work as professional composer in the music industry. Graduated from the National Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2020, he founded the same year his company - JVS PROD - which assists artists & creative agencies to design exclusive music & visual content.

Stylistically the « Samo & Co » project moves between Synthwave, Tech-house and Electronica but his genre is limitless. Finding roots in a large music sprectrum legacy coming from atypical artists and movie directors such as Kavinsky, John Carpenter, Justice, Carpenter Brut, Ridley Scott, MN84, Jean Michel Jarre... Julien always manages to give birth to eclectic musical stories combining his drummer background and the use of vintage synths. 

During his exclusive live sets he combines retro keyboards, drum pads and sounds coming from the outer space to sculpt an hypnotic groove that sets the dance floor on fire.
