Directly from the crazy laboratory at the Eat Static headquarters Merv Pepler brings you "Lost In Time", an exclusive downtempo podcast with unreleased goodies and rarities, recorded with CDs, vinyls, synths and additional FXs to spice all up.
Fresh from trawling through his endless crates of CDs and vinyl and riding high on the recent Glastonbury Chill-out Set for Mixmaster Morris, this is a unique collection of 'off the wall' goodies that will take you on a journey to places you have never been...and be lost in time... Forever.

Merv had always a passion for edgy downtempo stuff so this is a man in his element. This isn't just music purchased for DJ purposes, it is the stuff he listens to at home in the very rare moments that Eat Static are not busy. The stuff he would play while you were sharing a good English cup of tea!
But that's not all! For this podcast Merv has also armed himself with his trademark analogue synthesizers and sampler and some twisted effects to add even more color to the mix and also the feeling of a live performance. A form of remixing, on the fly.

From world music to other wordly delights: Merv Pepler's exclusive radiOzora chillout show is on air again this week with a new installment for another three hours enjoyment. Tune in!
"Lost in Time" continues with the second three hours show on the Chill channel Wednesday evening 8pm CET. A special downtempo podcast with unreleased goodies and rarities, recorded with CDs, vinyls, synths and additional FXs to spice all up, this is "Lost in Time" by Merv Pepler aka Eat Static. Merv had always a passion for edgy downtempo stuff so this is a man in his element. This isn't just music purchased for DJ purposes, it is the stuff he listens to at home in the very rare moments that Eat Static are not busy. The stuff he would play while you were sharing a good English cup of tea!
The second installment took a little longer after a very busy summer season for Eat Static constantly travelling around the world with his live performance but it is finally ready and was definitely well worth the wait. Going through his vast music collection of about 40,000 albums, Merv carefully selected another bunch of gems and special rarities in this three hours long journey for the radiOzora listeners, don't miss it! The first airing time is 9th October, Wednesday evening 8pm CET and the re-runs are on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Another one not to be missed: meanwhile Merv and Chris Rich have come together for a music session and came up with a brand new crazy versus track called "Voodoo Doll" - to be released at Halloween on Eat Static's own label Mesmobeat Records...

Stardate 2014 - It's officially Eat Static's 25th Anniversary! Merv's first show of the year and a celebration of being in the electronic dance scene for a quarter of a century. This show reflects that by featuring music that has been with him for a lifetime, from wacky psychedelia from the 60's right up to modern day, cutting edge electronica. A soundtrack to a rich and varie life and a lifelong appreciation of quality music, no matter what genre. Music that speaks to your soul...
There is also a brand new exclusive Eat static remix of the Desert Dwellers next single on Twisted Records. The brand new Eat static studio album is also on the horizon and Merv has promised it will defy all genres and push the scene that he helped create, ever forwards. EAT STATIC | Lost In Time #5  - May Day Edition | 01/05/2015

for the first 5 years of writing electronic music I was making dubby, DnB, Jungle, Hip hop and experimental music. It wasn't until my friend convinced me to try and write a trance tune (which I refused to do for a long time) ' The Moof is Rooving ' I played at one of my first sets as the last track at a small out door festival in the forest outside of nelson along side my dubby experimental music and as soon as the first kick dropped people were coming out of the trees and running to the dance floor and dancing like people having an exorcism. Once I was back home after the summer in nelson I started to write psy break and some more psychedelic stuff. as the next summer came around I had a full set of tunes to play and was pushed into the spot light playing greats times and having an amazing response.
The fractal of life opened up in front of me and I have surfed that wave far and wide playing grouch all over the world. The problem was that I didn't have enough time to write enough even grouch music which is why my album on zenon records " Corpus Callosum' took me upwards of 5 years to finish.

I knew that as soon as the album was done and I was back from touring it I would be getting deep and going back to my roots and writing music that just comes out of me so naturally - LOVE it it comes straight from my heart and I am so happy to have had the time and support to finish this piece of my self.

My journey in life through my music is a transformation healing path where i am having to face my insecurities of being on stage where I often get stage fright BUT the love of my passion for music has kept me getting up on stage and facing the fear. Every time I get up there I have a healing experience, facing my fears with my love and so I grow and feel humbled to the core from this Life's blessing of giving me a passion I knew I would never let go.
