Sonic Explorations follows the journey of Scionaugh as he adventures through the plane of infinite possibility, in an attempt to realise his own sonic identity. The EP begins as he traverses sludgy swamps thick with atmosphere, encountering a variety of creatures. Some scuttle in and out of existence, while others stay to tell a story with their growls and gurgles. Traversing this land of metallic clicks and thumping kicks, he enters a darker world, one in which the sounds bombard his senses. He stumbles across instruments that are recognizable yet warped and twisted, like the memory of a dream that is familiar though bizarre. The whisperings of alien entities combine with a playful cacophony of squelches, screeches and sirens to create the engaging journey that is Sonic Explorations.

'Nyumba' Is the new 3 track EP from Crooks (X7M Records). 
Nyumba is the indigenous word for song and dance in Yidinji one of the many dialects. 
This mini album takes you on a sonic journey deep into the Australian bush - and pays tribute to the traditional owners of the land that he calls home. 
Showcasing a new style with a modern twist on the classic Australian sound - Crooks has gone above and beyond to bring you something unique.

This song is based around the “Heart beat” rhythm that is introduced intro ceremony at the beginning of a corroboree.
This track features my close friend Coedie Mcarthey, a young Yidinji man living in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. In his trance like state he channels the spirit and wisdom of his ancestors and pays tribute to their way of life. With his ethereal vocals and mantra’s this song takes form in a powerful affirmation.
Coedie’s totem is the cassowary and he too walks tall on this journey.
