We are happy to present Cockwhore & Macho. They probably need no introduction: if you have been a guest of Copenhagen nightlife at some point, you know who they are! We could not think of a better duo than Kenneth and Mads to start the spring with. True local heroes who have been a part of Copenhagen nightlife for 10+ years – before some of you kittens could even spell to ‘house music’. With countless parties in in their track-record, they have always made sure that there was a space for queers and other minorities in nightlife. Always innovative and playful with genres when playing apart but when together, they give us the best house and disco has to offer. We are so excited to have them

We're so happy to have Milo @milocph gifting us this beautiful mix. Milo has tirelessly killed it with both her selections, dance floor energy and iconic fruit altars 💕

> What were the thoughts behind the mix?

It's been a while since I have recorded a set that wasn't meant to be heard in a club setting, and I had a great time putting tracks together for the curious listener. That being said, I also love creating journeys for the dancers, and I wanted the set to reflect the pre-party you have with yourself in the bedroom before going out to a big night! A good mix of energizing, sexy trance, breaks and techno.
Group Therapy has been a big part of the cutest moments I've had throughout the last year, and if I should put some audio on some of those memories, this must be the result!

> What makes a party therapeutic to you?

Community is the keyword! I'm a big supporter of parties that can manage to create a strong and loving community around them. I believe that healing within comes with the joy we can offer to others - that can be serving big smiles and moves on the dancefloor, spending hours on preparing a set to guide people through the night, holding space for the ones in need etc.

If I have a feeling I have contributed with something that have made a positive influence for the people around me and vice versa, my therapy session is succeeded!

> How do you make the perfect fruit altar?

The perfect fruit altar for me consists of 3 things - crazy amounts of beautiful fruits, vegetables and sweet snacks, cozy lights, plants and deco to create a warm and welcoming space, and last but not least the little jar with conversation starters! The convos coming out of this have been amazing to witness. The second time I did it at GT, I witnessed two people who met each other this night, draw a question and have a beautiful talk with tears in their eyes while eating bananas. Does it get more wholesome than this? ❤️

For the next instalment in our very irregular mix series, we are happy to present Gill. We first met Mark in the Carpathian mountains and he has now become a face known to a lot of therapeutic regulars through relationship to the Fandango crew and his tireless searches for new sounds and new venues. A true rave activist and a beautiful selector, thanks for the mix, Mark!

We asked Mark a few questions for this mix:

This mix is stunning! What were your inspirations or thoughts when making it?
- The mix was recorded on the 6th floor of my friend Patrick’s apartment I was crashing at earlier this year. The room is full of beautiful plants and natural light, and glows so nicely during golden hour. Definitely was focused and serious recording this mix. Musical and mixing inspo from expressive and delicate DJs I’ve witnessed during this year. Trying my best to bring the listener on some sort of adventure via nice and interesting hypnotic & emotional percussion, prog and breaky sounds.

What makes a good party?
- Hehehe its an age-old question, and I don’t think there is a simple answer. But going beyond the obvious foundations, I know the best parties have collective responsibility evident in both participants and curators. Synergy on creating an atmosphere of respect and freedom for self-expression. Every detail and potential interaction are vital to evoke such atmospheres. This feeling most commonly found in passionate community orientated collectives or venues. 

What role does community play in creating raves?
- Community is a motivator, it’s the same special people and faces that keep us curators going. It is this community support that allows curators to be brave, bold and take risks that lead to rewards for all in whopper rave form. Beyond that, I feel community in party terms is a mutual acceptance and respect for ourselves and each other. With comfortability of regulars noticed by newcomers. Allowing for more significant rave moments in safer spaces.

Finally about pins. In or out?
- Pins are Out Always! Even in upcoming darker colder times, our Pins may go in, but we must go on. Remembering always that Pins Out is a State-of-being. One frees one’s pins, to free one’s mind.

We first met @mette_munk as a dancer and community member of Copenhagen’s faster techno floors a few years back. Since then she has been nurturing and expanding her own DJ skills and organized parties through Galleri Anti. Mette is also engaged in Københavns Frie Promotere and producer and editor of Bedtime Magazine ✨

For our 5th birthday, Mette created a stunning mix for Group Therapy that weaves in and out of groovy progressive house and trancy goa vibes. Get ready for a bouncy ride 🚀

@larsfixen has been a strong supporter of Group Therapy and a dear friend of ours for several years. As a little birthday present, Lars made a marvelous mix for us that shows what’s hot in Lars’ universe 🛸

Expect dreamy fusion of percussion, progressive house, slowed down trance, with a playful twist in the end! If anyone can drop a Marcarena slowed down dub mix, it is Lars. Such a vibe! 👯‍♀️

Last spring, we hosted Fandango Group Therapy, marking our friends from Fandango’s first visit to Den Anden Side. Aside from the secret performance, the entire event was recorded, and we’re thrilled to share it! Nearly nine hours of dance music, filled with countless “you had to be there” moments, a gorgeous opening from Tania, an arm-hair-raising closing set by Murrin & Gill, and the GT residents doing their things in between.
