MY FIRST STORY - Saishuukai STORY

SWANKY DANK are a 4 piece emo-pop punk band from Tokyo, Japan.

BIO: SWANKY DANK was formed in 2007 by two brothers, KOJI (Vo & Bs) & YUICHI (Vo & Gt). Within their first 2 years they played over 100 shows. They released their first album “SWANKY DANK” March 18th of 2009. July of that year their single “FOR YOU” was used as background music in the film “MW (ムウ)”. After that, while making a name for themselves with their energetic showing at events, they added their first official drummer, SHUN in August of 2012. In 2012 they also released their 1st EP, “THE LOVE WAS GONE”, and in 2013 a single, “LISTEN TO THE RADIO”. That year, in november they participated in the split album “BONEDS” with other bands: MY FIRST STORY, AIR SWELL, and BLUE ENCOUNT. In February of 2014 second guitarist KO-TA became an official member. SWANKY DANK got a new, fresh start! Their 2nd mini album “Circles” is slated for release in June of 2014. From now on, watch out for SWANKY DANK!

Every day, the morning sun
Shines, flooding down.
It continues to the ends of the Earth…

“ohayou” to emi ukabe
kyou mo arukidashi
“sayonara” to te wo furu
hitobito wo nagame namida suru

“Good morning!” They smiled.
Today, too, they set off.
“Goodbye!” They wave their hands.
I gazed upon the humans, and cried.

koko kara mieteiru
keshiki wa onaji ka?
itsumo futatsu kawarazu
kono “tobira” de kugirareteta

Can you see the same landscape
From here, too?
The two are always unchanging,
Cut off by this gate.

tsukiyo dake hirakareru
dare mo ga osoreru sekai wo
mamori tsudzukeru tsuyosa yasashisa wo oboeru

Only the moonlit night’s door is opened.
I remember kindness,
And the strength of protecting a world in which all are afraid.

toosugita shuuten wa
mienai mama de
te ni dekiru chiisai
kakera kibou hitotsu nokoshite

Without being able to see the finish line
In the distance,
I leave behind a single fragment,
So small it could fit in my hands.

koko kara mieteiru
keshiki wa onaji de
itsu no toki mo kawarazu
muhyoujou na giseisha-tachi

The landscapes we can see from here
Are the same,
And we see the expressionless sacrifices
Through all ages, forever.

takusan no yowasa ga
itsuka yuuki ni kawaru toki
hontou ni daiji na mono ga wakaru you ni negau

I pray that someday,
When my weaknesses become courage,
I will know what is truly important to me.

kanaete kureru yume ya
dareka ga tsukuru mirai nara
chigau tokoro he susumu niji no kakaru saki he

If my dream is granted,
Or if my future is made by someone else,
Then I will travel somewhere different – somewhere over the rainbow.
