Volume 2 of Soma’s latest VA series, Collective Process, drops with 5 new peak time Techno cuts that span various styles. Introducing yet more new talent to the label and packing that typical Soma velocity, Collective Process Vol. 2 aims to push the new breed of Techno.

Cologne based DJ/Producer Johannes Schuster opens the release with the proper stomping and EBM tinged ‘Die Menschen Nennen Es Liebe Feat. Marian’ before Californian EAS goes full pelt with ‘Rich Murder’. Next up, Ear To Ground label boss Gareth Wild drops the rhythmically deep and atmospheric ‘Sword Outwears The Sheath’. Confluence steps up with the rave influenced Satellite. Already a member of Soma sister label Avoidant, the Russian artist has his sights on a more warehouse techno focused track. Closing out Volume 2 of the VA is Serbian producer Milo Raad who excels in creating dark, twisted and rhythmically focussed techno packed with attitude.

Uun - The Descending Passage [Soma]

Scottish DJ and producer Hans Bouffmyhre has just released his latest EP on Consumed Music, and it's a true treat for fans of industrial techno. The EP features three tracks, each with its own unique flavor, all of which transport the listener to the dark and gritty world of the warehouse rave.

The EP's first track, "Warehouse Jam," is a relentless assault on the senses, with pounding kicks and sinister synths building to a fever pitch. Bouffmyhre's mastery of the industrial techno sound is on full display here, as he creates a track that is both danceable and menacing.

The EP's second track, "Art Of Deception," takes a more cerebral approach, with eerie pads and glitchy percussion creating an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty. The track's hypnotic groove is sure to get under your skin and stay there.

A compilation of unreleased tracks, mixed and compiled by a member of the PoleGroup platform.

To make up the 6th volume, Lewis Fautzi, has selected 22 previously unreleased tracks. Besides tracks by Reeko, Exium and Oscar Mulero, the tracklist includes works from PRIS, Svreca, Shifted, Adriana Lopez, Bas Mooy, Alien Rain, Eric Fetcher, Nørbak and Lewis himself.
With this sixt volume, PoleGroup invites you to discover a powerful selection of unreleased tracks from high-quality techno producers, all mixed by Lewis Fautzi in an 76 minutes long compilation.

The CD, limited to 250 copies, will be released in a digipack and will be available towards Triplevision and the PoleGroup bandcamp page. Born (1982) and raised in Malmoe, Sweden Mika “Grovskopa” Hallback is one of the most exciting and innovative young DJ/producers to arrive on the techno scene in recent years.

He has been producing since the tender age of 14 and began DJing a year later, eventually graduating to his current three+ turntable set up at 18 years of age.

Originally drawn to the punk rock scene by its energy, Grovskopa discovered that the rising techno scene also carried this energy, but conveyed it through sounds that were more to his taste than the standard guitar, bass and drums set up which had led the punk scene into cliché. "I listened to a lot of Synth and Punk Rock when I was 10-15. I loved the sounds in Synth and the energy in Punk Rock. So when I heard techno it was the perfect mixture for me", he explains.

Eschewing the purely club-based loop techno which had put many of his fellow-countrymen on the techno map, he gravitated towards the more intricate, menacingly industrial techno coming out of late 90s England, taking his lead from producers such as Surgeon, Regis and James Ruskin. Simultaneously, Grovskopa developed a taste in some of the inspirations for this sound from outside the techno scene, such as Steve Reich, Liaisons Dangereuses, Recoil, Arvo Part and Boyd Rice, feeding notions of musicality that strectched far beyond the dancefloor.

Along with his musical partner Archae, Grovskopa formed Emergence records in 2001 as an outlet for their first release, but with the wider intention "to release music on a continuum of change, to support the development and expression of artistic ideas and to create a forum for the new". Archae did however leave Emergence in 2003 and now the label is run by Grovskopa and his brother Luka Baumann. In 2006 Grovskopa widened his playground and started the sublabel Pohjola Records. A label that quickly became known for its 1990s techno romanticism.

Further to this, Grovskopa states, "My biggest vision is to intertwine this 'body music' with the 'intellectual music' making it appealing to listeners of both groups. I work quite much with electro acoustic and non-musical elements (most of which I record at my dayjob as a blacksmith) which I find very stimulating."

Those who may once have been considered heroes are rapidly becoming peers. Treading the difficult path of creating music with conceptual depth and artistic focus, which still operates as FUNKtional dance music, a new techno force is coming out of Sweden to control your mind and your feet!
