'The selection of tracks in this mix is meant to be a seasonal transition and as such finds its meaning in the moment in which it is listened to by imagining how many times the weather can change over the spring months.

Starting from this concept I focused on selecting all those tracks that I don't usually put on radioshows but that I play exclusively live and this was the real challenge since recently I have been increasingly finding myself in situations more dedicated to listening than dancing where the beatmatch gives up some of its importance to the selecta and the creative blend between 2 tracks.

One thing I have noticed in the electronic music environment these days is that bpm is becoming more and more an important topic to be able to immerse oneself in a dj set and I myself when i hear unusual rhythmic divisions or bold blends I feel stimulated to go into the studio and try to do the same.'

A Step On The Map (2025, Guest Mix)

Back by popular demand: Tako's wonderful Holiday Mix!
Here's what I wrote 7 years ago:

I was about to post this beautiful summer mix of Tako with the following words:

"What do you expect from a mix when it's done by a supernice guy with an excellent taste in music and a wonderful record collection? Yeah and that's exactly what you get here. Also make sure to get a copy of the first 12" of the Sombrero Galaxy, released on Lovefingers long awaited ESP Institute. Sombrero Galaxy is the collabo between Tako and Jonny Nash and their "Journey to the center of the sun" is one of my favourite releases of the last years, cheers!"

That was yesterday. In the meantime something terrible happened. Tako's friend Petros Malevis from Athens passed away without a warning. This mix is dedicated to Petros! He will be missed. Rest in peace, Petros.

"We're unbelievably happy to have a superb mix by the "Kings of Downtempo" - Ronny & Renzo in the growing bin. If you belong to the four persons on the globe who don't know these guys and their label King Kung Foo yet, just buy their records (they're amazing - Broken Fingers incl. a Sombrero Galaxy remix came out a few weeks ago : ) and check out their interview (and of course the mix) at Cosmic Disco. But first listen to this mix. It's different from most of the mixes I've yet heard. They are precisely cutting vocal samples from german TV, overlaying laid back Ronny & Renzo originals and pearls from the vast collection. Next level ; )

growing bin records is a micro-label and online record store. With lots of love and affection we bring you music that is special to our ears. Well actually we're a one man business, but "we" sounds a bit more professional, or maybe even royal. Forget about that. We're small and not a bit royal and we'll stay small and loyal. Cheers!  If I should not react to your demo I probably didn't feel it, and I'm too shy to tell you.  Sorry but life is short and I don't release stuff that i feel 100%. Keep on keeping on!
