Inspired by early Detroit artists like Carl Craig, Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson. The early 90s Hardcore, Jungle and DnB magic makes up a majority of my record collection topped with hard-hitting gabber, techno and tracks from Detroit that still give me goosebumps…Red Planet ‘Star Dancer’ and Casey Tucker for example are sublime. We proudly present the debut album «Harmless Dreams» by the rock band BastEt from Helsingborg, Sweden, released by the independent label BastArt. The label unites over 50 musicians, artists, and actors, creating multi-layered audiovisual projects that combine music, art, literature, and performance.
The musical style of BastEt in the album «Harmless Dreams» is based on live instrumentation with guitars taking the lead. The sound is dense and rich, while maintaining an atmospheric depth. The band creates a soundscape full of emotional contrasts where every note resonates with honesty and sincerity. The compositions balance between melancholy and light, appealing to fans of classic rock, modern indie, and post-rock. Maria Knutsson’s vocals add sensuality and drama, perfectly highlighting the mood of the album.
«Harmless Dreams» explores deep themes of inner conflict, loss of identity, and the search for freedom. Through imagery of dreams and emotional confinement, the album paints a picture of alienation and personal struggle, where dreams turn into cold realities.
